That would be hard since Green Day is from the Bay Area and blink is from San Diego
I like what I have heard so far and the full single releases tomorrow. I bet I will pick it up May 15thif I like the other tracks :)
I'm a fan of Green Day so I will buy the album but I was really dissapointed with American Idiot, I'm sorry but it was just too much of a change to rapidily and some of the lyrics were just forced in some areas, and I expect 21 Century Break Down to be no different. Atleast Green Day did the side project band as FoxBoro Hot Tubs and released Stop Drop and Roll!!! I loved that album so atleast I still got something out of this long wait from the memebrs of Green Day. Hopefully Green Day will re-record Ciggarettes and Valentines (the album that was supposed to come out instead of American Idiot and it was like previous albums but the copy of it was stolen so the band made American Idiot instead.) and sell it, I would buy it, it would be easy money and it would also keep/bring back some of their lost fans and older fanbase.

Blink-182 would still exist if it wasn't for them..
would they still be popular? its because of bands like green day, rancid, offspring, that mainstream punk became popularthere was a show on fuse called "influence'D", and while Tom didn't say it directly, he mentioned how important they were in the show

I saw that episode. All he said was how important American Idiot was. Just because they were an earlier pop punk band doesn't mean that blink-182 wouldn't be just as popular. Blink-182 is more influential than Green Day.[QUOTE="lonewolf604"]would they still be popular? its because of bands like green day, rancid, offspring, that mainstream punk became popular[QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"]

A good deal of the bands me and you listen to wouldn't be around if blink-182 didn't exist.Yes. I liked American Idiot, a lot.btaylor2404At least your honest.
And no way, if they actually gave a crap about their fans and made some good music then yes of course I would be looking forward but thats not the case.... Besides who needs Green Day when one of the most anticipated albums of the year already came out yesterday.

I know we have similar tastes in music, but we're exact opposites on this. I loved Green Day in the early 90's but then they lost me. A friend made me listen to American Idiot, and I loved it. Still play it all the way thru fairly often. No, not a big fan of American Idiot, but their old stuff was pretty good. Im not really looking forward to any new cds in particular, but Im going to a lot of good concert in the next couple of months.

I loved GreenDay as well in the early 90's but they lost me because i grew out of the "pop-punk" but I still had respect for the band. American Idiot made me lose any respect I had left, (my opinion of course) it was a sell-out album.I know we have similar tastes in music, but we're exact opposites on this. Man, Green Day changed so much compared to their early albums. I felt that they always had the pop-punk feel but ever since American Idiot, I stopped listneing to them.
