Not really. The "boy" part would offend me more than the "white" any way.

[QUOTE="nocoolnamejim"]Can't say it has ever happened to me. There aren't a ton of black people wandering around in Idaho where I live. :)robobie

Did that smiley face represent you being happy that their are no black people where you live?

Haha, that's what popped up in my mind too.

Are you offended if your white and a non white person calls you white boy/girl and stuff along the lines of that...

or If your Black and someone refers to you as black person etc......no bad words..example..."hey white boy/black guy come over here"

cee1gee
Well you dont do that do you. I fi dont know someone i hail them as hey mate or something like that. If i was hailed hey white boy i would take offence by the tone, if it was a joking manner no problem if not then yeah i would ignore the hail.

I don't think I'd like someone on the street calling me boy no matter what their race was. As to someone black calling me white boy, I wouldn't like it, but I see double standards against whites as being karmic. Not that I think two wrongs make a right, but that I think many white people simply don't get it, and if having to see for themselves a tiny little piece of what things were like for African Americans for a majority of our history is what it takes for them to get it then so be it. I would rather they would learn to see the black perspective through more intellectual means, however.

I'm white, and I don't think I'd get offended if a racially derogative word was used against me. Obviously it's not nice if someone's trying to insult you, but the actual word he used to do so wouldn't concern me. I can't say it's ever happened to me though.

Yes. I was offended when I used to be called that. I kept my mouth shut though I damn well know him and his little friends would be pissed if I called him black boy. Thank god I had decent friends then.

I wouldn't say offended, but it means I reserve the right to be able to fight as dirty as they do.

So? It doesn't give them the "right" to call you "white boy" without you doing anything about it.

I would be somewhat offended if the person was serious.

That's just one of the many reasons why political correctness sucks.

Personally, I prefer a societal double standard to centuries of slavery, forced emigration from my home country, centuries more of social inequality leading to economic disparity among other things, and then to top it off white people going around acting as if they're oppressed simply because a black person calling them whitey is seen as less egregious than them reciprocating in a similar fashion.

It really depends on the context of what they are saying.

It's never really happened to me before, but I don't think I'd care too much. I'm not easily offended.

Depends on the context and the intentions of the person saying it.

I don't mind if they call me a black guy. As long as they don't mean it in a offensive way...
