Weak agnosticism, or empirical agnosticism (also negative agnosticism), is the belief that the existence or nonexistence of deities is currently unknown, but is not necessarily unknowable, therefore one will withhold judgment until more evidence is available.

Believing in any form of higher power renders you a non-agnostic. To be agnostic, you can neither acknowledge nor deny the existence of a supernatural realm, given that there is no proof to support either position. I equate it to the acknowledgement that we don't currently understand how the universe was formed, since that's the crux of the theist vs. atheist debate.

I concur. Nobody can without-a-doubt prove their religious or non-religious beliefs. No matter how much we argue,it won't change anything. I say live your life and however you die,at least you'll die happy.

Hmm? How can you simultaneously take one of these two opposing positions while at the same time admitting that there isn't evidence to support your position? That doesn't make much logical sense.

I think he means to say that you could be agnostic, but more willing to admit one over the other. Sometimes as an almost subconscious reaction. Many agnostics are former Christians who've had the idea of a higher power ingrained into their heads at a young age, and they can't entirely remove it from their minds. Officially, I'm a strong agnostic, but I have tons of metaphysical theories that sometimes involve a higher power. They're only theories though, and I don't believe them to be more than that. I just state them as my beliefs when asked if I want people to think that I'm a deep thinker.

There doesn't have to be a benefit. It's more of an acceptance that what we deeply desire may not be true. Some people prefer to face that possibility head on.
Let's put it this way: if you have a terminal illness, you can pretend that everything's alright, and that you'll wake up tomorrow perfectly healthy, but that won't make it happen. Similarly, you can believe that there is life after death, because that's what you'd like to be true, but your desire alone isn't going to make it real.

Leaning towards atheism bothers me deeply, so no I'm not proud of my tendancy towards it. But I sure as hell can rationalize this world and all that it entails better when I don't believe in religion or a God.

There is a key difference and you have to be blind to not see that difference. If you can find Jesus' blood and some of God's blood and genetically trace it back to God (Read: About 50/50 Split between God and Mary), then you have proof. Until then, you are just pushing your beliefs as fact.
Well where do you think I stand. I don't know if God(s) exist or not, especially with the technology at hand and we won't know for a great deal more time. Though if He/She/It/Them do infact exist, He/She/It/Them exist on a plane of thinking/existence far beyond what we currently understand.
100% Atheist. God(s) is a myth created thousands of years ago to explain the unexplainable e.g. why that person should be king, why we are here etc.Â
To be honest, I don't know how anybody can believe in God. Just seems ridiculous to me, you open up the Bible and it says "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" .... doesn't go into much detail, does it?
