I used to be and for good reason considering how much i hated God. Now, thru Christ I have no more fear of death. Meeting my savior at the judgment will be a grand thing.
so many depressing threads today..but then again its Monday... i'm not scared of death i would welcome it, if its my time its my time..i did what i was suppose to do
Why be scared of death? You should accept the fact that we all die and that it will happen no matter what. Instead of waiting or worrying for death to come, why not try to make your life the best it can be to leave an impression that won't die.
I am immensely scared of the painful suffering and agony you have to go through.
And the human body is capable of being tortured so immensely before a person passes out it's not even funny. I am bascially immensely scared of physical torture be it natural or by someone else.
Just the other day I went to the doc to have my ear cleaned and it was so painful I cant imagine having to bear that over and over again.
And I dont believe in God and I can say "rationality and logic" all I want, I wont deny that I am a bit scared about the prospect of meeting with some God who could care less about rationality and reasoning.

I have never understood the fear behind an eternal state of nothingness.
well the way i think of it is like just having a mind, and memories, like just laying there for the rest of forever with thoughts, like a boring waiting room, you know?
I m scared to think that one of my love ones go before i do. I believe in God, but i just dont know if i could take the pain.Solid_Tango
Happened to me. ( A really close loss. ) That is just what gives me solace in death. What ever follows after death, follows to us all. So inevitably I will be rejoined with my loved ones. Be it in nothingness or in an after life state.

Except you're dead, and so is your mind, so you wouldn't be experiencing anything. You wouldn't feel anything, you wouldn't know what's going on, and you wouldn't feel any pain, suffering, or anguish. I don't see how it's not on par with eternal paradise.
As a Christian I have no reason to fear death. It is important to prepare yourself in life though. Ask yourself this: Have I done my life the way I meant to and even more importantly have I brought happiness to those around me?
I'm not afraid of death. I have seen a ghost (believe me or not) and i now know that there is some sort of life after death. I cant explain what it is or how it works, but its not just black when you die.
Yeah, I'm a human and fear things I have not had happen to me and know nothing about. I kind of wonder if people who say they aren't afraid will be once they are actually dying. I have a feeling I'll feel better about it once I'm dying.
I've waited for the day to come since I was 12, but I'm still going to flip out if someone tries to kill me. I'm sorta scared, but I've always been interested how I'm going to die.
