BTW, I missed one question. It was the pythagorean theorem one (which they also wrote incorrectly, it's A squared + B squared = C squared)

it's been said many times, but i'm going to say it again, because i'm a maths freak:
a hypontenuse is the side opposite the right angle in aright-angled triangle
and you can't state phythagoras' theorem using letters for the sides unless there's a picture provided showing which sides are the sides of the right angle and which one's the hypotenuse. pythagoras didn't say that in every right-angled triangle a^2 = b^2 + c^2, but that the square of the hypotenuse in a right angled triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the sides adjacent to the right angle. if i draw a right-angled triangle and name the hypotenuse b (which i can do), then it becomes b^2 = a^2 + c^2 making this kid's quiz wrong.
all in all, it's a rather pathetic 'test' to see if you're smarter than a 7th grader... hell; i can think of at least 10 mathematical theorems most grown-ups who work as builders have never heard of. does that make me smarter than them? no! well; in maths, yes, but they can build stuff and know bout different tools and materials i have no clue about, so it's entirely relative what 'smart' is...
8 due to the house question and apparently A2 - B2 = C2darkodonnieyeah, another example of ambiguity...
I hope I am. He/she wrote the majority of questions incorrectly.yeah, those are the two i got wrong.... they shoulda used alt codes. I got 8
Example:
What is a hypotenuse?
A. The opposite side of a right angle
B. The opposite side of a right triangle
C. (some bs answer they wrote)
The real answer...none of them. A hypotenuse is the leg opposite of a right angle of a right triangle.

Whoever wrote this certainly isn't...
Question one:
Question 1:What is an hypotenuse?
A wild animal which is a herbavore.
The opposite side of a right angle.
The opposite side of a right triangle.
None of these are correct. It isn't the first, it isn't the second because it doesn't mention what type of geometric object we are dealing with. The third isn't correct because a triangle doesn't have an "opposite" side...
Question 2:What is the formula of Pythagorean Theorem if trying to fine a missing leg?
Half of 20 + B2= L
A2-B2=C2
A2+B2=C2
Again, none of these are correct. They should have used a^2, b^2, and c^2 (Without the "^" it just means you are multiplying by 2). Also, it doesn't identify what these symbols are representing... What I learned was c is the hypotenuse, and a and b are the other sides (never heard of a "leg", but I googled to find out it refers to the two sides that aren't the hypoteneuse). That would make the correct formula to find the missing leg c^2-a^2=b^2 or c^2-b^2=a^2.
Question 3:What is a pedometer?
Yes, this is standard grade 7 knowledge.
Question 4:How many F's are in here?
I must missed the "how to count letters" lesson when I was in grade 7. :(
Question 5:What is the most likely thing you would do if a house was on fire?
You want to know what Iwould do? Scream and cry. I don't see that option.
Question 7:Who won the latest superbowl?
Is there a football course in grade 7?
Also, what the hell is this? "One day, I saw this kid called Fred. He told me if I could follow him to the market and by fruit for me. He told me if I do that he'll get me fun for a day!"
Thanx to the constant threads and spamming from that day I could get the superbowl one right ; DD
And here I thought I would never put the knowledge I've aquired from OT to use.
7 although the quiz was flawed. The superbowl question was outdated as the Saints won the latest one (what that has to do with the intelligence of a 7th grader i dont know:?) and the first hypotenuse question was worded bad imo.Blitz_Nemesisit was, how did you get the results of each question?
