oh boy... care to explain why? let's do it this way instead of list wars (ex: virus, you like the white color of the computer, etc): tell me, TaMuK711, what you do with your mac. everything from web surfing to using garage band to make music. I doubt there is anything you can list that can't be done better on W7 64-bit.Personal preference:)
I find everything about the OS and software to be superior to anything I've encountered on a PC. Its a great little laptop for college. I don't PC game, which would be the only reason I'd ever go back to a PC.
superior how? you seem to be a computer user that primarily uses an internet browser and itunes, and not much else. windows offers a better firefox with a wider range of add-ons. there are far superior media players for free like foobar and mediamonkey. so we established that software on mac is equal to or less than windows. finally, the hardware. a netbook with 11.6 inches can be found for $320-400 depending on how good you are at finding online deals. you save $600 (I assume you use the white macbook, if not the savings grow) and don't lose any functionality. how can you say the macbook is a better deal?user preference for the interface, debunked: you like the dock instead of the windows taskbar? download objectdock for windows and autohide the taskbar. like the interface to be a dull gray? set color to gray under control panel-personalization-colors. want firefox to be the same gray color? download a mac theme for firefox, there are hundreds to choose from. I can go on if you can give me your other user preferences, but by now you'd realize I can argue against anything you list.
the point is, macs do less than windows and linux, and cost twice as much. unless you use imovie hd, garage band, or final cut pro, there is NO reason to get a mac.
