The premiere was only decent by 24 standards. It was a bit slow, but no slower than the beginning of Season 1. I think we've come to expect more of a fast pace with recent seasons. One thing that caught my eye were Monica Crowley near the beginning. It wasn't particularly special, but I found it interesting. I also found it good that it was Kim that taught Jack to say with CTU's investigation. I wasn't at all surprised at the turn of the events. I didn't guess that Meredith Reed would be working with the assassin. It wasn't surprising though. I did guess though that she was just a set-up and that it was Hassan's brother behind the assassination threat, so that didn't shock me. The intense was good throughout the show and that was enough for me to keep me on my edge of my seat, even if it wasn't great by 24 standards. I'm glad to see Chloe back and I can't wait until Renee returns. I'm already liking Cole Ortiz and President Taylor's Chief of Staff Rob Weiss. I'm looking forward for the tomorrow night!

Wow, Jack Bauer stopping an assassination at a peace conferance... how original.cpo335I will admit that it's not original. Hopefully, the plot itself is not the only cliche that it delivers, but I do expect that there will be some formulaic storylines that will play out.
Hell yeah I was watching. 24 is the only show on tv that I actually get excited about watching. I thought this season started off pretty decent though the thing that makes me cringe a little is when they divert attention away from the main plot to set up some annoying side stories like with Dana Walsh's, "He knows who I really am and it could destroy me." Ugh. It just seems to bog things down. That and I was kinda hoping they wouldn't bring back CTU and just go with the format they had last season. Sure, the FBI headquarters was sorta like CTU-lite, but the show ran a lot smoother, and seemed more intense because the focus was more on what was going on in the field and not in the office. Hopefully they go back to that this season and just leave CTU behind because at times it felt like I was watching an episode of CSI: Miami with all the glass rooms and such. Other than that, I liked what I've seen so far.

Yeah, I didn't like Dana Walsh's story. It's probably going to have nothing to do with the assassination attempt. It's just filler. I like how Season 7 didn't have much filler. I think Olivia Taylor's storyline last year was the only filler storyline and it came late in the season.Hell yeah I was watching. 24 is the only show on tv that I actually get excited about watching. I didn't watch it tonight and I'm only kind of considering watching this season. Season six was god-awful and I didn't even bother with seven.bluezySeason 6 was bad, yes, but season 7 was definitely redeeming. I suggest you go back and watch it, and wait on this season.

Hmm... I like the cut of your jib. I think I'll do that, I'll need something new to watch soon, I'm running out of Mad Men episodes.

Exactly, it was just the main plot the whole way through and action-packed. No bogging down the story with a situation the audience doesn't care for. Hopefully they do the right thing and eliminate it. And hopefully in an entertaining way. Like with an RPG flying into her vehicle as she meets with that "mysterious guy who knows all her secrets". Given 24's long, rich history with it's characters, I'd say that has a pretty good possibility of happening. Sooner rather than later I hope.Yeah, I didn't like Dana Walsh's story. lol, Jack cant get a break, can he?
Well knowing "24", the assassination attempt is for something that is even a bigger scheme... Anyone cares to speculate what it will be???
Speaking as a rabid fan of the show andsomeone who watchesit almost religiously, if what I just saw was 24, I will shoot myself tomorrow because I do not think I can stomach watching a full season of that garbage.

I'm inclined to agree. The only part of the show that really seemed like 24 to me was the end of the first episode when Jack sent the one dude flying down flights of stairs and the helicopter was blown up.

RELAX. The story is only getting started. There were too many questions that were left unanswered in this premiere. Wait until tommorow for part 2 of the premiere to see where itis going.
There's no hype for season 5. It sucked. Along with seasons 3, 4, and 6. Seasons 1, 2, and 7 are great. 2 being the best.
I've never seen any of the show. I kind of want to watch it just to see if season 5 lives up to the hype.Dark__Link
As for the thread question, hell yeah I'm watching tonight.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the Dana Walsh story, but I was too busy thanking the powers that may be that Katie Sackhoff is in the show to care. Now all I have to do is get rid of Freddy Prince Douchebag :xHell yeah I was watching. 24 is the only show on tv that I actually get excited about watching. Season five sucked? You sure you're watching the right show? :P Wow...anyone who thinks season 5 sucked was obviously high the entire time. Season 5 was some of the best television. The story, and conclusion, the villain...Season 5 is essentially the season that killed 24. It was just too good, and there was no way 24 could ever meet those standards again. If you think about it, if season 5 didn't exist, people would have enjoyed season 6 and 7 a lot more, but season 5 spoiled us.Wow. Tonight was awesome. Cole Ortiz is a hero for stopping the bomb. Renee Walker is a psychopath. I can't believe she cut off the arm of that Russian. I can't believe we have to wait a whole week for the next episode.Genetic_Codelol, I knew some more things would get explained tonight. Wow, is Renee bordering Tony Almetta crazy???
lol, I knew some more things would get explained tonight. Wow, is Renee bordering Tony Almetta crazy???peaceoutmedusa
I can't tell if she's worse. She's just... ugh... I'm not going there. That was disgusting what she did. In the previews, it sounds like she's putting herself in harm's way. I wouldn't be surprised if she's doing it to get Jack off her back and work by herself. She is a masochist for doing this job for no benefit. She doesn't even want her badge back. What type of psychopath is she?
Yo don't be throwing out spoilers! I haven't seen the episode yet :evil:II_Seraphim_IIThis is a discussion thread about 24. Recent episodes have aired. What else of any relevance is there to discuss other than the recent episodes? You shouldn't have even bothered entering. :P I will say that these episodes were the best episodes since Season 5.
