If you think about it, we are all just that. People often forget that, and make things more complicated than they need to be. War, for example is really just a bunch of rival ape families fighting over bannanas. The same could be said for politics. The apes with no bannanas will always want to take from the apes that do, this is why governments were formed. JuiceCakeOohYes. Tc, how long did it take you to figure that out?
Soon non of us will have bananas because of a virus which is killing the banana population. what happens then?JPOBSThen we wait....
Well, if evolution is correct, we were apes.QWERTYCommanderCommon misconseption caused by poor wording, we're still those same apes. its not like we split off from another species, we've evolved from another group of monkeys that obviously aren't around anymore

Pretty much.

What do you mean: "The others"?"We" probably are. The others aresome kind of mix breed between ape & human. The most distinguishing feature is the more common breed can talk just as we can but their intelligence is inferior when compared to an ape's.
MagnumPI
No, just humans. Might have been hairier but have always been humans. That's like saying a cat and a dog at one point looked the same...
I guess you could category us as apes...
I don't see how you can change one specie to another. ...but then again birds are similar to dinos.

More than OT even means... we are as ape-ish as you can imagine... everything we do socially is observed in primeape populations...
Primeape populations? Toto, we're not in Kanto any more...More than OT even means... we are as ape-ish as you can imagine... everything we do socially is observed in primeape populations...

Primeape is a pokemon. You're thinking of "primate."And if you look deeper we're just a bunch of cells joined together with chemical reactions happening inside.
You can extend that to anything living.

Serial murder is a phenomenon I haven't seen in primate populations. Genocide and the trading of toxic mortgages also come to mind.Yeah pretty much. We don't mean anything at all. We're here to have fun.And if you look deeper we're just a bunch of cells joined together with chemical reactions happening inside.

Serial murder is a phenomenon I haven't seen in primate populations. Genocide and the trading of toxic mortgages also come to mind.Serial murder is a form of extremely violent behavior, which is something observed in all ape's... baboon males will sometimes be so violent, they will be driven out of family units and forced to live by themselves... kind of like sending a murder to jail...
One group of chimpanzees will attack and kill every member of another group of chimpanzees includuing females and infants, and eat the dead chimps, for seemingly no reason at times... they even organzie in squads and use loose battle tactics... similar to genocide, although on a smaller scale...
Toxic mortages, you got me there... but is that such a bad thing...

Bad enough to send the US into recession. If you think about it, we are all just that.JuiceCakeOoh
You mean if I put as much thought into it as you did.
Do animals have war? Do they have governments? If I can make an analogy of something, does that mean the analogy and the object of my analogy are identical?

Yes on the first 2... no on the last one... thats the difference between us and other apes...
Well, if evolution is correct, we were apes.QWERTYCommanderEvolution really doesn't anything to do with that. Human's make up their own words to classify animals, and since DNA wise we are most closely related to primates, we have categorized ourselves as primates. Even if you're religious, I don't see how you could deny that we have something like 99.8% identical DNA to chimpanzees.

The more developed primates have both wars and governments in very primitive forms. Please Log In to post.
