Arizona State University students wear "blackface" to blackout game

It was a racist thing but when you think about it, there's still some subtle racism out there that exists today. This isn't really racism since no one's painting their face to act black. They're painting it for a blackout game.

I did say it was. I meant that things that we consider not racist were probably racist back then. Like black people and chicken and then we see those popeye ads with that black lady and we just don't think about it that much.

Anyone who is familiar with the context of blackface would probably immediately recognize the idea of putting yourself in blackface as one that people might very well see as racist. I'm guessing these girls either aren't very smart or just weren't aware of the social context of blackface.GrudHeap

I don't think this is racist at all, but I don't agree with the philosophy that if a black person is involved, then it can't be racist.
