The ironic thing is...  The police are always open carrying their weapons.  Yet no one feels threatened by them if they simply talk to you...  Or how about in the past when people had swords, did people always feel threaten by any site of a sword that was sheathed?

Gun control:

"The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her panty hose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound."

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"] I really don't think anyone needs to walk around with a gun out.....MakeMeaSammitch

Safety is more important than public norms.

People with guns are more likely to kill themselves, a family member, or an innocent than a criminal.

Facts are facts. It's less safe.

Except those facts are wrong.

People fail to realize police can disarm anyone if they have reason/suspicion of agitation or aggression. You refuse you can end up getting tazed, or even shot.

Carrying a firearm (in places allowed unlike a courthouse) is not reasonable suspicion though.

If I was the person in question the first thing I would have done was to alert the officer the interaction was being videotaped and audio recorded. Then I would have asked if I was being detained and of course, remind the officer of the LAW.

I feel threatened by cops with guns.  I feel more threatened by cops with guns who think citizens shouldn't be able to have them.

Yet no mention of the officer being put in jail for aiming a loaded fire arm at an innocent civilian. These thugs will never learn unless they start getting punished.

Nope, gun owners are 2 times more likely to kill themselves than a criminal. That doesn't even include family mambers and innocents killed.

Knife owners are 8 times more likely to cut themselves than being cut by a criminal. Lawnmower operators are 20 times likely to be injured by themselves than by other operators. See how that works?

Having seen a few videos of these guys who "face down thug cops" it always seems like they're very much intent on setting up a situation.

I don't agree with being allowed to walk around with a gun in plain view.

Stupid law. Should be abolished.

In terms of psychology, it amounts to walking around with your #&%$#^ exposed. Same thing really. More of a compensating thing than a security thing.

And it's another form of indecent exposure, along the same lines.

TL;DR - keep it in your pants, out of sight.
