Asian girls and white guys

To the poster: I think this is true any time anyone goes out with someone of a different race: some of the people that share the same race as the person you are dating, and are of the same gender as you...are going to be jealous of you. It's either jealousy, racism or a combination of the two. It's ridiculous, but it happens all the time. Or you may get this: your friends of the same ethnicity as you may make off-color jokes about you dating someone of another race.

Whatever the case may be, don't listen to them. Race is an invention. We're all just humans that have invented convenient ways of differentiating ourselves from one another.

I think that's actually the reason why some people react they way they do towards people of different races dating and getting married. Am Mexican and have seen that behavior happen with people I know who dated women of a different race. To most people like that its as if the only people allowed to have a relationship with the men/women of a certain race are the opposite sex of that same race.

I don't get this behavior, but it dose seem like a very big factor for what the OP describes.

Yep, but theres not as much difference as is commonly implied. Theres about 1" to 1 1/2" difference in average between black and asian.

I have an asian gf, and we've been going out for 6 months. I haven't experienced any hostility though, but there aren't too many asian men in the area.

But i'm sure if i was in asia i would be treated much differently if i was dating her. It is looked kinda down upon over there.

My wife is asian and I haven't experienced anything overt out here in Colorado.

The funny thing is that it almost seems common- my daughter's kindergarten class is made up of 24 kids, of which 3 are half-asian half white (the other 2 kids have white moms and asian dads). The only other minority in that class is 1 Hispanic girl.

Yeah, but I spend 90% of my time in the city, considering my University is there. Our population at that school is 90% Asian, and yes I can honestly say I've never seen a White girl with an Asian guy. I work at a resturant and have seen like 22 year old Asian girls with 58 year old White guys where I scratch my head, but no never a White girl with an Asian guy :\. Unless they do an excellent job of hiding it.
