well Im 6'1 at 220, and Im slightly overweight, so Id say your not terribly obese per se, but you are a bit over the healthy weight yes.
your ina similarbracket as me, im about 5' 11"but im only 145Lbs, i am incredibly skinny. are you muscular?
Its a little heavy. But not really an unhealthy weight.
I'm 6'1" and back in high-school I was about 225, so I was about where you are at. And altough I did drop a bit of weight after I graduated, I never really considered myself fat.
I'm 5'11" and I weigh 180 pounds.
I would like to get down to 170 pounds, because when I look at that BMI chart or whatever it says healthy weight for 5'11" person is 175.
I'm 5'11'' and 145 pounds and I consider myself about average so it's up to you bud, but I say go for it.
I'm only 5'7...122 lbs...28 waist...since we're all telling each other how tall we are and such...and i don't think you're obese or anything..
Yep, you're a big dude. But not terribly big.
I'm 5'7-5'8, 135-140. I haven't weighed myself in awhile and I'm pretty sure I lost some weight.
I'm 5'9 and 170 pounds and I consider myself fat. My BMI is 24.4 I think, so I barely average weight.

I'm low to, but I consider myself to be in decent shape..As long as you do some exercise every now and then, you should be fine. Just because you're overweight/underweight doesn't mean you're out of shape or unhealthy.[QUOTE="Xx_Hopeless_xX"]

Depends on how muscular you are. You may be able to stand to lose a few pounds but nothing a little work won't do for you.

Wow that chart is complete crap, I'm 6'3" and if I weighed 179lbs I'd look so gaunt and emaciated.
[QUOTE="Large_Soda"]For the sake of reference, Abraham Lincoln was 6'3 3/4" and 180 lbs. lol to think back when Ab was in charge, the average male was 5'5 tall. Now the average male is 5'5. Seeing someone at the height of 6'3 back then is comparable to seeing someone 6'9+.Wow that chart is complete crap, I'm 6'3" and if I weighed 179lbs I'd look so gaunt and emaciated.

No. You're not big. In fact in the world of athletics and sports.. you're on the small/medium side.
I think most people who said you're big only say so because they're small themselves or aren't around many big people.
don't post that nonsense.. it doesn't account for people who train to build muscle.

If I weighed 171 pounds I'd have like 3-5% body fat. and I'm only 5'8

If anyone is posting nonsense, it's you. You're indenial, that your problem. Don't go lashing at my post because you're insecure. uh, what? you do know the healthy male body fat % is between 6-18% right? that scale assumes you're anywhere between those. but that's not true for people with more muscle mass. I'm in denial? Sports, training, and athletics were my life for 25 years. I went to school for athletic training. I think I know what I'm talking about here. What you posted is essentialy the BMI.. and though it's a decent gauge to determine a body weight for average people who don't do sports training.. it's not for those that do.THE bmi doesn't account for higher bone density.. higher muscle mass. BODY fat % is a much better indicator for if you're over weight or not. Not a chart telling you what weight range you should be in.

You took the chart too seriously, I didn't even bother reading your post. The chart is obviously just an esitmate of the average male.uh, what? you do know the healthy male body fat % is between 6-18% right? that scale assumes you're anywhere between those. but that's not true for people with more muscle mass. You took the chart too seriously, I didn't even bother reading your post. The chart is obviously just an esitmate of the average male. It's actually not a chart of the average male.. IT's a recommend weight range for specific heights.Going just by your height/weight, that is a little heavy. I'm about 6'0" and 165lbs, and i'm not exactly a beanpole. You're not obese or anything though, and it all kind of depends on what kind of build you have.fidosim
dang! Im 6'1" and weigh 220. And im not fat. It must be muscle. :?
You're big, I'm a few pounds lighter than you but roughly the same height, and even I look biggish.
But I'm happy with what I'm like, if you are too then love life.
