[QUOTE="coylenintendo"][QUOTE="Fuhgeddabouditt"] By fake, it makes a joke of what real wrestling is. The only losers I see is fans hyping Undertaker as if hes some elite fighter when hes clearly not. This event is garbage and its my opinion that wont change. I also see how it entertains people. I was once a WWE fan myself but grew out of it. And lastly, Movies dont take them selves seriously as the WWE tries to do.. Fuhgeddabouditt
Particularly with the growth of MMA, I really don't think very many people are confusing WWE with Greco-Roman/freestyle/collegiate wrestling. Unless they're morons. [QUOTE="Paladin_King"]The Undertaker is really, really getting old. If he was going against a young guy this year I just might, might think he'd lose. But he's going against HBK. So I'm picking 'Taker. As wrestling fans know, 99% of the time, when someone puts his career on the line, he's going to lose. It's just the means of allowing the wrestler to retire or start a new storyline. (Look at Mick Foley. That guy's had several "pink slip" matches and has lost all of them.)sSubZerOo
What does a person youth have to do in that charade when its all pretend fighting mixed in with some drama queen lines. :|
While I don't watch wrestling that often anymore, I used to be really interested in it. At least the athletic and business sides of it. How things are scripted, etc.
When you have an established old guy who's popular with a massive streak going, if a new "young" guy beats him he gets a massive "rub." Basically, his popularity and marketability skyrockets. Essentially, the guy to beat the Undertaker means he's the next guy the WWE is going to promote, or "push," like crazy.
So no, I'm not an idiot. I'm not saying youth is a factor in actually winning an athletic contest here. Youth just means it's a new guy. If an already established wrestler beats the Undertaker, it does jack-all for the WWE since an established guy is already established. If a young, unestablished guy beats him, he becomes established. Wrestling is interesting if you're able to grasp what's going on behind the scenes and all the admittedly terrible acting.
