so yesterday i went to see an irom maiden concert (im not a big metal fan but i love these guys music) and one of the bands that open is called atryu (never had heard of them before) and the crowd really hated them, for example at the end of their preformance the drummer threw his sticks and they threw them back at him, people were happy when they finished playing, etc... so basically i was wondering if anyone here knows them and could maybe tell me why they were so hated. i mean im not a metal fan so i dont know if they play badly or not so that is why im asking.

Think of them what you will, but to me it seems they aren't the "Maiden fan" type of band, and that's likely why they weren't well received. But who really knows.
I enjoy listening to Atreyu. Slow Burn and Lipgloss and Black are great songs. I can't listen to them a lot though, i tire of them pretty quickly. But overally i say they are better than a majority of the bands out there. Except the singer, he's not really good at all.

I can see why Iron maiden fans would hate them.. i have heard a few of there songs through TV and i wasn't a fan of those so i never checked further into there stuff.

well i love all their stuff up until their latest cd. they used to be straight up heavy metal in their first album "suicide notes and butterfly kisses". their next cd "the curse" slightly less heavy but overall the same as the first and better in my opinion. their 3rd cd "a death grip on yesterday" is less heavy. . their newest cd "lead sails and paper anchor" is not to different except for that song "falling down" which i hate, their current cd their making is going to be like that last song. i got into them when i was 12 cuz i liked really heavy music, i still like that but im 15 now and have a wider variety of music taste. their second cd is my favorite, their 3rd is my second, and their first is my third. i havent even bothered listening to their 4th i dont like their new stuff. very talented and maiden probaly had them play with them cuz they got the same type of epic guitar playing etc.their drummer brandon saller is the **** i did a biography on him in 7th grade lol. alot of fans are dissappointed that theyre changing their ****
dude, it censored the last word s-t-y-l-e thats retarded. i also got a warning for a petition a couple days ago, and 2 other ones for putting the first letter of a "cuss" word and put those bleep stars for the rest. theyre hella strict on here. even EA's forums arent that strict. but youre allowed to have pot leaf graphics for your avatars etc. and i was thinking it would get me in trouble cuz i was gonna use one for my avatar:o , whatever though my current one is an acid trip so its better:lol: lol.

I would switch "heavy metal" by old school metalcore. Suicide Notes And Butterfly Kisses was a good old school metalcore album, The Curse is one of the best Post-Hardcore albums ever made. A Death Grip On Yesterday was getting too mainstream and Lead Sails And Paper Anchor is total BS.
their music isnt emo, it isnt (mods censored it, i didnt mean it in a "explicit" way, its the name for a cat or what we guys love :) ) music, id call them metal before their new stuff. emos just like it cuz of the dark lyrics, thats why i was into them cuz i was sad :( lol. but im bright :) as hell now, i still listen to them now though. i like some "emo" music like from first to last but im not emo at all. people need to listen to tons of different music it makes it more enjoyable. i like indie, hardcore, post hardcore, emo, screamo, metal, heavy metal, rock, grunge, reggae, rap, hip hop, instrumental, johnny cash (only country ill even get near ;) ), experimental, "hippie music" like old syd barrett era pink floyd and greatful dead etc, 80's music like the cure and joy division style music, tons of great music out there :) . i dont get why people would just want to listen to one type of music and limit themselves especially just listening to music to make themselves slit their wrists and crap.

id still call it heavy or hard metal their was alot of sick double bass kicking drums and screaming. i agree about the curse, my favorite song in it is probaly bleeding mascera or this flesh a tomb. i liked a death grip on yesterday but never bought it or burned a copy, i liked the songs i got to hear though. and yes their new cd is complete BS. i havent really listened to it but i heard it was like papa roach, i hate them. actually my friend's sister is good friends with them lol.
Well, if someone calls Atreyu a pussycat music, it really is a matter of opinion. But Atreyu has never been metal. Metalcore is punk with some metal influences. Thats why metalheads hate metalcore because they call it wannabe metal etc.

Every "core" music is related to punk somehow. Hardcore punk=heavier punk music, Metalcore=Hardcore punk with metal influences. I think Deathcore fits to metal group of music because they are Metalcore with influences of Death Metal. But anyway Metalcore, Screamo, Post-Hardcore are all developed from Hardcore Punk.

That is a pretty **** thing to do. I mean I do not like every band I see at concerts I go to but I give them there respect and don't make them feel like crap. Recently, Burn Halo was on tour with Escape the Fate. They do not match well with ETF fans but most of the fans gave them some respect and did not treat them like crap.
