atreyu a band hated by my community??

do you guys get many concerts in mexico? i would have thought that more people there would appreciate it when any band comes out their to play.hughami

I always imagine that they get some huge venues for "big" bands or something. That might be a generalization but it just seems that way since most bands rarely do shows in that country.

I like Atreyu, infact they used to be one of my fav bands. However, there is probably a couple of reasons they got booed. One. Maiden and Atreyu dont mix. I have noticed over the years that people that are into old school stuff hate all new stuff pretty much and get all defensive when they realized how much music has changed and they are unwilling to accept the change so they hate. Two. Atreyu pretty much sold out with their last cd (you could even say it started with their second to last but it is probably my fav cd) so alot of people dislike bands for going the route where all the money is at (can you really blame them?).

These people who think atreyu "sucks" and such are hypocrites and I can prove it if they give some reasons why they like their bands and why they hate atreyu.

"Its not some remote village in china or something" - that made me chuckle. Mexico, in large, is not a ho-dunk, obscure corner of the world. The culture there is just different from that of the USA. And still...the same kind of thing happens in the USA often...an opening band is not fully appreciated by the majority of fans that came to see the headlining act. People often have closed minds toward music, film and other forms of entertainment with which they are unfamiliar.

For example: Stevie Wonder, whom I find to be one of the greater American songwriters of all time, got booed off the stage at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York for playing "Superstitious" in 1973. A few months later, it became his second #1 pop single.

edit, for the record, I was just coming from the angle that Mexicans aren't a bunch of dingles who should happily lap up any crap bone that is thrown to them. Atreyu isn't that great.

panic at the disco is one of the lamest bands ever. they are one of the examples of how much **** is influencing todays generation of rockers it seems. pretty lame. im part of that generstion being only 15, but i have real taste for music in my opinion. i like music as old as the 60's, and plenty of different genres etc. at school all the chicks i hung out with were emos and loved crap like panic at the disco, but at the same time they loved real music like slayer and iron maiden etc. heres the video of that *** panic at the disco singer getting hit in the head lol.

I actually like atreyu. & i know i may get some negative comments but i like them better than iron maiden.

Atreyu and Maiden was a bad mix, thats 2 totally different musical tastes. They are both good bands regardless of anyones opinion(otherwise atreyu wouldnt have been opening for maiden) and i would blame whoever put the tour together for mixing it up like that.

I'd be upset too if some band like Atreyu opened up for one of the most talented and greatest old school Metal band of all times. Iron Maiden deserves better.
