[QUOTE="kikman5"]USA more variety in everything. diff people. diff weather.. more lulzcru3Different weather? Australia is one of the most diverse countries in the world in that regard. We have everything from arid deserts to sub tropical rainforests, and everything in between. And regardless of what you've heard, we do have cold weather in Winter. It's not scorching hot every single day, all year long. We're also one of the most multi-cultural countries in the world, so your first point is not real valid either. ;) You aren't AS multicultural as USA tho :P

Bejamin Franklin did not discover electricity. Most historians will tell you that that honour goes to the Englishman William Gilbert.
yes yes, and the italians also gave us electricity here them tell it, its nothing new, here in the USA were used to other people trying to claim things we did such as the Internet etc. ^___^Anyway i was kinda high, so i voted australia because i thought it said USA on top atfirst haha, but my vote goes to USA, simply because noone has given the world as much and i simply cant think of anything else australian besides steve irwin lol
hahaha : p so its not a tie after all.. ):
I think if I was to choose where to live it would be the US because I have 50 States to choose from that aren't all sunny, whereas everywhere is sunny in Australia from what I understand and it might get too much for me.

That doesn't automatically mean every male adult in Australia is fat. When you said sexier I assumed you ment on average, and I was just saying that on average australians are fatter.

Uhhh, Australia has an obesity rate that is about 9% lower than the United States. The US is currently in 1st place (or last depending on how you look at it).

Being overweight doesn't mean someone can't be sexy. Not everyone cares about things like that. I'm not overweight. I have a pretty good sized circle of friends, who also aren't overweight. Even if you are, it doesn't necessarily mean you're unhealthy, or ugly. Or even any less virile than a normal sized person, to use Videodogg's original compliment.[QUOTE="FlyingArmbar"]

American obesity levels are estimated to be somewhere between 30 and 33% as compared to Australias 26%. They may be getting fatter but they're still not the fattest.
I was going off numbers from 2005, but that's still 4-7% less than the US.
Australia has no bill of rights and very few avenues for the advancements of civil rights and liberties. Addtionally, the Australian High Court lacks the real institutional independence of our Supreme Court from the executive, so the government is much more consolidated. Their state and local judges also lack individual freedom because of pressures from the federal government, which prevents citizens from receiving consistently fair treatment in court. I'll take the United States. On the bright side though, Australia does not have California, which almost makes me want to move there.

THUMPTABLE
We have the best healthcare, its just not available to everyone
We are allowed to own guns, it is our right and more importantly our privelage.
We also have the best athletes, and are at the forefront of sports and nutritional medicine.
We also have the most atheists.
As Ive said before countless times in defense of my country, the US is a place of balance, tradeoffs, and sacrifices. Yes, we have a high gun crime rate, but the tradeoff is that if my dad and I want to go hunting or target shooting, we can.
Furthermore, I find it sad that people must attack the rare extremes of the US. Fundamentalists make an extremely small percentage of the religious nutters in the US. Gun crime is mostly against other criminals (i.e. gang war). If you work just a little bit and get a good job, you can have the best healthcare available.
I am definately not saying its perfect, just different. Where the rest of the world seems to be content keeping its people at an "OK" status, the US seems to say "We got the best and the worst; take your pick". Not saying its better, its just different and many people that immigrate here are suprised at how hard it is to get by. Ive known a few Canadian and South African couples that had to move back home because of the difficulty, but I also know of more than few success stories about immigrants that came from nothing and now have it great.
