All I see is mention of heaven. And just because it says "expanding" doesn't mean it is referring to actual scientific explanations. Is there a literal translation of that passage?

It says God is expanding heaven. Heaven could mean any variety of things, real or metaphysical. That is the vagueness I was talking about.

And of course, when you can twist it to make it seem like it predicted a major scientific discovery, you do. And when it doesn't, you leave it as being poetic language. You can't lose.

But you are twisting the words to mean universe. That is interpreting what it actually says to apply it to what YOU want it to. I blatantly says "heaven." If it said "universe," something about all the objects in it moving away from each other and something about red shifting, then I'd be impressed.

The Greeks wrote more accurate literature about science, 500-700 years before the Quran even existed.

 No you don't... you claim to know what it meant, when actually you're just cherrypicking what is convenient to you. Still... at least you admit that it's vague.

*sigh* You don't get it... if it's vague, then it's irrelevant how true it is.

It could mean the Earth's atmosphere, it could mean the universe or it could mean a metaphysical realm. Three completely different concepts. That level of vagueness isn't acceptable in a "proof."

I don't feel like going through that entire website but is there anything with solid evidence on it? Something that cannot be interpreted like something that directly expresses the definition of natural selection? Or the process of the formation of mountains? Or mammalian sexual reproduction?

And abt the whole 'brain' cant see/toucn etc..it was a joke....lame one i guess=(....anyways....herz another one... A priest comes to a person and tells him how to save himself, the preist says that Jesus is the son of god and that he was crucified to save him))) the preist keeps on coming, one day the person tells a frnd to come and whisper sth in his ear when the priest comes to him...the priest comes and starts talking abt christianity agn, the frnd comes up and whispers sth in his ear...The person starts crying, the preist is perplexed and asks him wats wrong, after much reluctance ther person finally answers that he just heard that Gabriel has died...the preist gets angry and says Wat do mean, u fool Angels cant DIE!!, the man answers "oh u fool, God cant die either" _____________ And this is a joke I heard frm an Aethist...so I used the same logic that Aethists use agnst them....so can I see ur brain...HELL NO

I agree, neither should be endorsed.

But I think the progress is that both ideas are being given as an option to students.

If I said to my parents that I chose the subject expecting some kind of a reaction, all I would get is "... okay, great :?"

Technically and legally we are all Roman Catholics, but all of us are sick of Religion and what not, so technically they are non practicing (and I use the term loosely) Catholics, whereas I am Agnostic (hard to say of my bro, probably Agnostic as well). Mind you my mother uses Religion to threaten me. And I have attended Catholic schools all my life, mind you my distaste of Christianity has left a sour taste in a few peoples mouths, and they tried arguing with me. Unfortunatley for them I am of a far superior intellect, and nowadays they shut up about it.

Hmm... my family's also made up of nonpracticing Christians... I don't even go to a Christian school or anything. I'm a closet agnostic (my elder brother's a closet atheist), I don't want to cause unrest within the family.

I wont deny that it can form rifts in families. My philosophy teacher was telling me how he doesnt speak to half of his family because they are devout Christians where as he is a Deist, and a somewhat Atheistic one at that. So he basically doesn't go to any family events because he knows it will cause trouble. I dont have to worry about that, my family (not immediate, cousins and uncles and whatever) hates each other anyway and we only speak to a few relatives who still like us.

Yeah.... I dislike how some people can't accept different beliefs properly... though, I guess I can be thankful that my family isn't made up of Scientologists....

Although the irony in you post is wonderful, I agree. I would go as far as to say that Scientology might be the new Christianity considering how similar they seem.

I'm quite acceptive of a person who believes in Scientology (although, it seems incredibly ridiculous to me... I would never believe in it). It's the part about how they force disconnection with people who believe otherwise that makes me think that being a member of a Scientologist family is a very bad idea.

There are sooo many atheists in Gamespot....its saddening...the fact that some ppl think that such a thing as we live in has got no upper hand watsoever...hellllo...therz a reason sooo many ppl are either Muslims,Christians,etc...cuz once a upon a time some actual prophets did come...and they brought Gods words....The Quran has stuff(scientifically) that is now or has been recently been proven by Science...the Quran came like decades ago...and it had recent scientific facts...if that aint a sure as hell sign i dont know wat is....The Quran has never changed..ever]

That is such poor logic, basically it boils down to "lots of people believe different things proving one other theory (atheism) wrong".

I said...Quran has facts such as the Sun revolves in its position...before this was proved ppl used to say look a scientific error...but now its proved that the Sun does revolve around itself....soooo..The Quran came hundreds of years ago...and has enver been changed since....soooo...The Quran is definatley nt the work of any human mind...

The book Neuromancer has the internet and cyberspace in it... but was written before they existed. Brave New World anticipates genetic engineering. Are these also works of Allah?
