...i...hm...i dont even know...what to say... other than that man deserves nothing less 1,000,000 lashes, his genitals removed, fed to him, followed by the death penalty by way of battery acid. I'm never this violent unless someone deserves it. That man is despicable.

icarus212001

Nice to know the worst in people can bring out the worst in others.

Just put him in a cage and feed him until he dies. Its like the death penalty, only the method is time.

This news is appalling, yes. Yet, I am somehow indifferent to the situation. I guess I am just desensitized to this type of news, since I used to read this type of headlines all the time (my web browser's homepage used to be cnn.com). Statistically, there are at least 6 billion people in this world, and on the normal curve scale, there are supposedly as much evil people as there are benevolent people. Well... not evil people, but misguided, ignorant souls that carry out evil deeds. I guess we can only learn to accept the fact that there is much hatred and impurities in this world.

What I despise about the news in the media in general is that they tend to focus too much on the negatives. However, it is very understandable since these types of news capture the audience's attention the best.

There needs to be less disturbing news so that I can make jokes as opposed to being mystified and, well, disturbed.

What did he do with the children? Did he lock them in the basement too, would none of them be able to speak or spell effeciently?FrostyPhantasm

The man allowed the children to leave the basement, but they couldn't leave the house. Some of them had never seen the light of day.

I don't know how it is possible to rehabilitate this guy or make him realise what he's done and let his own conscience punish him and make him truly sorry. Life imprisonment in solitary is the only option.

All I can say is that this a very disturbing incident.

Life imprisonment isnt good enough. Eventually he'd adjust, probably within the first week after he finds Bob his new butt buddy. The solution is death. Remove him from the Earth and save room in prison for people worthy of the space. If you are religious, then you know death is *not* the easy way out. Let him rot in hell.

Well death is even going beyond the "eye for an eye" philosophy, he hasn't killed anyone. And as far as death being a punishment, no-one knows what happens after death, he could just cease to exist with no realisation or acknowledgment of how horrific his actions have been.

Like I said I think solitary imprisonment is the only other option.

Nah, I think there is no room on this earth for people who are capable of such things. But I really can't even think of an appropriate punishment for this guy. What this guy TRULY deserves would surely be considered cruel & unusual punishment, so it will never happen.

How do we know who is and who isn't capable of what. Under different circumstances and in certain environments we have the ability to act in ways we'd never envision sitting in our own homes.

I think people who advocate torture and death for certain horrific crimes commited by other humans do so to partly to demonstrate their own severe condemnation of such acts. There is no real justice in that approach. The individual who has commited the crimes does not realise the abhorrence of his/her own actions. Until we can make them carry that burden for the rest of their lives there will be no real justice, just superficial dramas of condemnation and punishment in order for society to loudly express its disgust and distance itself from the actions of other people who are part of that same society.

Besides why does it matter to you if he is breathing or not. He has still committed these crimes.

1. All of those children are products of incest. It's unlikely they are mentally effecient.

2. None of those children have ever been outside. There is no way in hell that they were strong enough to fight even an old man.

But how did he rape her over and over again for twenty years, I mean did he tie her up or something... I think otherwise she could have made her own strategies to hit him and escape? I mean how can he just rape someone for over twenty years without any penchants?

My personal opinion is that the only satisfactory way of handling this is by putting him down like a rabid animal. If you want to be on a high horse and say I'm barbaric, that's cool, I won't lose any sleep over it.

But how did he rape her over and over again for twenty years, I mean did he tie her up or something... I think otherwise she could have made her own strategies to hit him and escape? I mean how can he just rape someone for over twenty years without any penchants?

Odds are he used drugs. There are drugs that can keep your muscles from working right, making you easy to rape.

Where was the mother? Someone interviewed an employee from the bakery down the street, and he said this guy goes in there with his wife to get bread. So she must be in the picture somewhere, unless that's a false statement. I haven't heard anything about her. But if she was knowing, she's almost just as guilty.
