Can't wait. Avatar was the one show that didn't disappoint. I just hope they don't milk it like crazy.
I liked the first avatar cartoon, though the ending seemed kind of rushed and abrupt.

Yea there was 1 big question left over that bugs me till this day. Wheres zukos mom. They just left that in the air and it is anoying.

The creators announced Korra will explain what happened with Zuko's mom. :DNot to say they didn't have more children(they had 3), but that one is the only airbender out of them.

Ahh I see now.finalfantasy94
Where did this info come from? I never heard of this. well the 3 kids part anyway. I knew that the tutor would be aangs and katars kid.
They announced it at comic con. Now there are updates everywhere that state he had 3 children. Anyways, the trailer looks magnificent.
Did people really think it was about james camerons avatar? I mean this show has been big for awhileeboyishere
Yeah, I did. I don't watch animation :|. I know of the Avatar series, but I was more down for another James Cameron production.

Funny because you do know that James Cameron's Avatar was mostly AnimationLiked it. It was interesting to see that Korra already has mastery or the fire element and according to the Avatar wikia
she also has mastery of the earth element. Now she is looking for Aang and Katara son for learn air
Miroku32Yeah, it's like the opposite of what Aang did.
Didn't the Avatar story end? Didn't Aamg's storyline conclude.
Mega-Mustaine
This is a spin-off mini-series that takes place around 70-100 years after the defeat of Ozai.
So, yes, Aang's story did conclude, but they're focusing on a new character now.
Yeah and theyre keeping it centered in one spot to avoid the show being like the first series :) Sounds pretty awesome!
Anyway, I am super excited! Not a big fan of anime (it looks like a bunch of still pictures to me), but this is great because its actually, you know...animated.
And I want a polar bear dog to ride on!

So Korra would start on Water, go to Earth, to Fire, and finally learn Air last.

I'm still confused how this terrible anime-for-tots has an actual fanbase. But I guess fans of anime will watch anything :PKHAndAnime
problably for its excellent story and writing, acceptable voice acting (hey, it is miles above 99% of the rest of Anime's voice work), kid- and adult-friendly appeal, beautiful art direction, and smooth animation.
It really is a good series from a technical/objective perspective.
It looks beautiful.I agree. Not big on cartoons, but I really liked the first avatar series. Good writing.scorch-62

They have 3d animation, too. On topic, looks good.I thank you. That new avatar certainly looks badass unlike that wimp Aang during the first episodes. He got better at the end though. Here's a YouTube link for people who can't see it.

Looks good. I haven'tkept up withcartoons in years, but I'd make an exception for a new Avatar series. I've always loved that series.
avatar as in the tall blue smurf cats, or as in that game everyone rented for a easy 5 minutes worth of 1000g achievement score?-DirtySanchez-The last airbender avatar - maybe that was the second one you mentioned?

I'm still confused how this terrible anime-for-tots has an actual fanbase. But I guess fans of anime will watch anything :PKHAndAnimeWell, technically this isn't an anime since anime is animation made by Japan and this is made, written and designed by Americans though largely animated by Koreans.

Energy-bending is kinda' like the opposite of element-bending. It's inherently related, but it doesn't fit into the cycle.
It's hardly the opposite. Thats like calling Bloodbending the opposite of Waterbending, they're 100% related.

Where's Energybending in that cycle?Nibroc420

That had nothing to do with energy bending.. "Energybending is the ability to bend life energy. It predates the four main bending arts"Nibroc420From my link:
From your link:Before the Avatar existed, people did not bend the four elements; rather, they bent the energy within themselves. [...] Since the show only touched on the subject once, not much is known about this era except for the Lion Turtle's description of it. However, it is known that people split into Four Nations at some point and began bending air, water, earth, and fire, as learned from the sky bison, the Moon, the badgermoles, and the dragons, respectively. At this time, the Avatar was incarnated into the world.
How is it not reasonable to conclude that, while they are are related, energy-bending and element bending are "kinda like" opposites? In any event, both of the excerpts I brought out should at least answer your original question about energy-bending not being in the Avatar cycle. Before the arrival of the Avatar into the world and the separation of the four elements, people bent the energy within themselves. They discovered the other four bending arts, and over time knowledge of Energybending was almost completely lost. The last known keeper of the art was an ancient Lion Turtle, who later passed it down to Avatar Aang, who used it to remove Ozai's Firebending forever.
