He's a bit chubby now but no where near being obese. The picture is a bit unfair I'd say, especially considering he's about 20 years younger in the first one.

Axl Rose wasn't known to do drugs. I've read Steven adler's and Slash's autobiography and they both said he wasn't into drugs.
