Wow, well i just bought the box set after hearing some good reviews, and startin watching them for the first time. just finished episode 6 (of 10) and what can i say... this series is bloody amazing, never felt so into a war movie before and it's so well done in every possible way. I've seen a ton of war movies and this takes the cake, okay it's a TV series but nonetheless the '768' i think minutes run time is the best war... no is the best TV i have ever seen!

Seriously, anyone who hasn't seen the Band of Brothers is missing out!

aye i agree with that. So many great actors in that, although compared to more recent films like i dunno We Were Soldiers or the Band of Brothers, it doesn't get me kinda 'worked up' and tense in the same way, i get genuinly tense over the bullets flying in BofB, never any other series or film tho, not even Saving Private Ryan (which i think was over-hyped and cheesy)

The episode with the concentration camps really opened my eyes. Wow, a great show to say the least. But one thing, never ever use Ross Gellers actor in any serious movie, I just burst out laughing when he came screaming like some angry general. (been watching a lot of FRIENDS throughout my years ;) ).

Band of Brothers is one of the top war "pieces" (TV or Movie) of all time. However, it does the best job of showing how people change in war, better than ANYTHING else.

I agree.
Band of Brothers is pure excellence.
It's my favourite series (miniseries or not) and is probably my favourite war-themed TV show. (film/series/miniseries etc.)

I LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! Seriously, its completely worth the 40 bucks i spent on it. BEST SERIES i've ever bought (not that i bought much :P)

i didnt like the last few so much because there was less action but the one "why we fight" was so good. it was touching and made me feel sad. So what were your favorite parts?

that would be sweet. it'll probably focus some on the pilots of the pacific war right? what were they called ? something tigers? i know they were like hired help for the chinese or something.

Yeah, what a great movie. Have you read the book? Major Dick Winters has also written a book and there is another biography out there on him that is relatively new.

It is a very good series. If you thought the show was good, read the book. Major Winters even wrote a book as well. Both of them are very good reads.

Camp Toccoa where the first episode takes place is just south of where I live. Currahee Mountain is rather impressive.

I'm getting the series off of bittorent as I speak (not illegal, it's a show) because of all the good reviews, and the fact that I loved movies like Saving Private Ryan. Once I get back home I'm going to watch one or two of them.

I think Band of Brothers is the best thing HBO has ever done it's so amazing and deep and gritty. Have you seen the one yet when they show all the guys together and then they start disappearing as the talk about which ones have died thus far, so moving. Great mini-series!

Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks where Executive Producers and each directed one episode are you sure they are making "Pacific" that's who made Band of Brothers hence the gritty look like Saving Private Ryan, can someone post a link about this. I haven't heard anything about this until today, great news today!
