King Crimson. Alot of people never even heard their songs :( It's hard to get somebody to listen to anything progressive. Bands like King Crimson, Tool, Opeth, jest to name a few, are all love it or hate it bands for the most part.Ice_52
Prog gets way too much hate. KC's "In the Court of the Crimson King" and "Red" are my 26th and 34th favourite albums of all time respectively. They were essential.

Do you like the Southtown orthe Satellite CD more? I like a lot of the songs on Satellite but Southtown has Southtown.
And Linkin Park WAS good.
Cattle Decapitation. I suppose you won't know them unless you're really into Death Metal; but even so, of all the DM fans I've met here over the years, I have seen only two who are fans of Cattle Decapitation. Makes me cry at times.dracula_16
I've never heard them before, but I'm very intigued. Mostly, I want to get into them so I can say "Cattle Decapitation" all the time. People'd be like, "Spider, what music do you listen to?" and I'd be like "Cattle Decapitation. I was just listening to Cattle Decapitation last night. You ever heard of Cattle Decapitation?"
*takes a deep breath*
OK here it is...
I really enjoy...
Scissor Sisters.
And now my overtly masculine cover is blown!

Maybe because deathgrind isn't their thing
Mine is Faith No More. I have met plenty of fans online, but never in person. Half the people who I tell look at me funny and ask who Faith No More is,while the other half say that all they do is scream, which tells me that they have never really listened to them.

I like Faith No More. Midlife Crisis is one of my favorite songs.....
Lacrimosa, again...
I find it funny that I've mentioned this band in here about a million times and no one ever seems to care, they're actually pretty awesome, but whatever :P.

They're a solid band. Not my favourite cup of tea. I'll take a dive into their stuff every once in a while, but it tends to depend on the day and situation.
Maroon 5. Everyone I know thinks only girls and homosexuals listen to it. :(DJ_Novakain
That's because homosexuals and girls are, in fact, the only people on the planet that could tolerate it.

On the contrary, I, as a hetero-sexual male, quite enjoy their music.[QUOTE="Bloodaxe726"][QUOTE="DJ_Novakain"]Maroon 5. Everyone I know thinks only girls and homosexuals listen to it. :(DJ_Novakain

Yay! Someone finally said something! lol
I seriously believed there wasn't a single person in here who knew this band. Oh, well, at least you appreciate Tilo Wolff's talent, maybe a little to dark/sad for your taste? What I love about them is just how much they've evolved, and thus how much variety can be found in their music, they started off as pure goth, then they did some goth rock, then symphonic gothic metal, then symphonic goth rock, and always with a little classical influence and style for good measure (Wolff is an excellent composer), AND even though the band does evolve, they never stopped playing any of the previous stuff, just exploring new possibilities while refining the old ones.
Lol, it barely shows how much I like this band, doesn't it? :P

Oh dern, you got me....Opeth (in real life that is) Only like 1 person I know of likes them, and another 1 has heard of them. I got 2 of my friends to listen to them, but one complained that he didnt like the vocals (he's not into death metal) and one complained that she thought it was too long to listen to.
Strung Out. Only met 1 person ever who has known about them and I wasnt the one who told them. I've never seen them mentioned on here either.
I get a lot of it at school, because I wear a lot of band tee's but only my friends that listen to it know what they mean.
I just remembered.. One of my friends was wearing a T-shirt of Slipknot two days ago.. It had all the band members on it. Someone came up to him and asked "Does that T-shirt not scare you?"...

I love the Arctic Monkeys :). I can't seem to find people into The Strokes, or The Pixies.

i know strung out and i'm also Australian so there ya go not a lost cause after all.
I'm into a lot of Post-Rock like Mono, Explosions in the Sky, 65daysofstatic, God Is an Astronaut, If these tree's could talk, Yndi Halda, and much more in that genre. When is comes to IRL people the only reason why they have heard of these bands is because of me.
A band that I like that people know of that dislike hmmm I don't really hang out with enough people to really care but I do have one metal head friend who doesn't like Iced Earth and I enjoy they hell out of them. Weird because he likes Blind Guardian to some degree.
