[QUOTE="Gamer556"]I listen to a lot of bands with female singers. My favorite is probably Camera Obscura. I can't think of a lusher pop sound out there.

How this isn't topping the charts, I don't know.
Berzz
Why should it? Bands like Camera Obscura are better off being away from the charts, man.
That's true, but I just don't get how the rest of the world isn't all over them.
Anyone like Tegan an Sara? i love that band.Epsylon47
Yeah, it's awesome.
And for those who are familiar with the film The Happening (haha), the actress, Zooey Deschanel sings with Mr. singer-songwriter M. Ward in a band called She & Him, which is really good in my opinion.
ok...i gots a list....
Evanescence (most of their old stuff might seem more hard rock like their EP's and Fallen album...i think Ben Moody had something to do with that...plus Amy likes to experiment so she added more sound effects to the Open Door) the plus side is Evanescence made the top 100 rock bands of all time on VH1...Amy's voice is mezmorizing!
Garbage (their first album was amazing) she has an eerie voice i think...some of the songs are very deep lyric wise...she has a good vocal range. Their song "I Think I'm Paranoid" is the best example of that. She starts off in a lower vocal, but the chorus is higher.
The Cranberries are very different vocal wise. She has a bit of an accent that shows in her music, yet they make such beautiful songs. My favorite would have to be "Zombie".
Lacuna Coil has a mix of male and female vocals. I love her voice! Any of their stuff is good.
The Gathering i believe started that style of girl singer rock bands. They are the originals, and i love their songs. My favorite are "Leaves" and "Shrink" ("Shrink" has very deep vocals.)
Within Temptation has a great lead singer. She has a very operatic voice (is that a word?)...she hits very high notes...soprano. Very good emotion and conviction in her singing.
Kidneythieves were well known for their song "Before I'm Dead" which was part of the soundtrack to "The Queen of the Damned" movie. Their stuff is good.
Switchblade Symphony has some eerie sounds as well. My pick would be "Witches" and "Dirty Dog".
Blue Foundation has been known recently for their song "Eyes On Fire" which was on the "Twilight" soundtrack. I like that song, and "Enemy".
Of course Paramore is amazing. I love the new songs on the "Twilight" soundtrack: "Decode" and "I Caught Myself".
Flyleaf is great. She does a bit of screamo too...yes...a girl who does screamo...and rocks at it too! I like their songs...i also enjoy their EP's.
Nightwish....not much to say. They're ok. You have to get used to the vocals.
Delain...AWESOME!
sorry about the huge post....hope this helped!

[QUOTE="Theokhoth"]Nightwish, Within Temptation, Xandria, Tarja Turunen (not a band, but still awesome), After Forever and Evanescence.MattUD1
I think Tarja was better when she was with Nightwish.
Nightwish was also better when she was there :P
Not to say I don't like Annette...

I don't think there is anything wrong with Annette. I saw them live at the end of August and I thought she was great. They even sang some of the older songs and it sounded as good if not better than with Tarja. Please Log In to post.
