Bands you love that no one has heard of

I say that anybody slightly interested must see them live. Very good experience that had me smiling after the show. I was lucky to see them in Chicago (made a 4 hour drive) where they were headlining on one of their days off from their AFI supporting tour. About 200 people so it was extremely personal.

I think it's interesting how some people are mentioning very popular bands in this thread. To me, the Shins, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Silversn Pickups, Attack Attack, Black Keys, and Killers are mainstream and fairly well known. Sure most of the bands mentioned here i've never heard of (maybe becuase I'm not into the genres) but the Topic: Bands you love that no one has heard of is very subjective and differs from everyone depending on how into music you are. I don't know if this post makes sense, but it just came up in my mind.

That's cause they are popular bands. They just don't get mentioned in the general crowed is all. The Killers on the other hand are known by everybody. All those other bands had a "well known" period at some point so some may have forgotten them until the name popped up again.

Mirrorthrone, Equilibrium, Carach Angren, Unholy Matrimony, Thyrfing, The Morningside

I like kent a lot. Not sure if anyone has heard of them around here.

Karnivool, although they are finally beginning to get some recognition outside of Australia, which is good.

Chthonic come to mind. I never hear people talk about them, maybe some members of GS know who they are, but in any case if you're a fan of black metal (especially symphonic) then you should listen to them.

Bloody Gaya Fulfilled (from the album Seediq Bale)

Robyn Hitchcock. I love all his music, but nobody seems to know him here. I also really like The Divine comedy, but I never see them mentioned.
