imo Heath Ledger is one of the best actors i have ever seen

chessmaster1989

What's he ever done?

*shrugs* the only two roles I've seen him in are The Dark Knight and Brokeback Mountain, and I did not think he was anything special in either of them (Brokeback Mountain was a fantastic movie, but not because of Ledger).

Just out of curiosity why do you hate TDK so much?

I don't hate it, I just didn't think it was very good, and I think that it is severely overrated.

I would understand if it was over hyped (because it was) but overrated? But there isnt a universal movie that everyone likes so its understandable. :P

[QUOTE="carboncopy68"] You have no idea what your talking about, your just some person who jumped on TDK bandwagon and it shows....

Nolan signed for a 3 part trilogy (which is true) but after TDK, he said that he is going to take a long break from the movie. Speculation has said that it might be released in 2012, which is 3 years from now (and a very long ways) No one has even been signed to write it so you can expect to not hear from the movie until a very very long time.

[QUOTE="carboncopy68"]

You guys don't know what your talking about! If you even bothered to look up some info you'd find that Nolan is entitled to a trilogy and the title is "Gotham City". Also, scenes were left off the DVD purposely in respect of Heath Ledger. Nolan obviously has some extra footage left over in the stock room, so I believe that he will be using them to clear up the vague ending of TDK. This will show what happened after the joker's last scene in the movie. The Riddler is not going to be Eddie Murphy, Shia Labeouf is not going to be Robin, and there willdefinitelybe NO Cat Woman! Just search around the net and you'll be surprised how much info and spoilers you can find on upcoming films!

-WHY SO SERIOUS???

SORRY!!! I didn't really explain myself too well. What I really meant to say was that the "in-production" name for the newest addition to the Batman trilogy schedueled for 2012, like you said, is "Gotham City", which implies that Nolan has yet to choose a villain for the film, and also implies that Gotham City is full of criminals and there are plenty options, so I wouldn't be surprised if Nolan picked some random bad guy, so for those Johnny Depp fans, don't get your hopes up too high! Hahaha! -WHY SO SERIOUS???

No, nothing is official. Nolan has already says he has no plan on a third yet, he will wait until he has a good story. He says he knows how hard it is to make a good third film, and doesnt wish to rush it or make one that will fall short. The studio is talking about a third. Rumor has it they want Johnny Depp to play Riddler and Phillip Seymor Hoffman to play the Penguin. But nothing is official. Recently a lot of news has come out saying that the studio wants Rachel Wiesz to play Catwomen, which I think is a great idea. Ever since talk of a third and a possible Catwomen has come out, I have said I wanted Rachel Weisz, and to hear news/rumors that she might play Catwomen is a possible third is great news. Im not sure if I would like a third, I like how the second ended. Im glad Nolan isnt rushing things, he is a great director, and to hear him say he will not move on to a third unless he is confident in a good story/script just proves this. I trust what ever he does.

I'm pretty sure Nolan's said that if the studio wants Catwoman then he will step down. He doesn't like the character or something

No, Nolan said he didn't want to do a batman movie that used already used villains (excluding the Joker). He also said he doesn't want to do a movie with Robin in it.

Dark Knight was an amazing movie, but after watching it for like the 5th time, you start to notice GLARING mistakes. Why didn't they blame the cop deaths on The Joker? >__> I would love to see another Nolan film because I like how he take a more realistic, believable approach to the world of Batman. I'd like to see Nolan somehow to Killer Croc, with a skin disorder or something:D-Sniper99-

Actually if you were paying attention it fit perfectly. Criminals began to figure out Batman would never kill anyone (take that Maroni guy knowing that the drop would only break his legs and not kill him, and the Joker wanting and wishing for the Batman to kill him practically all movie). If criminals think Batman will kill them obviously their guard is up again. Definetly not a GLARING mistake.

Why spoiling everything when it is already at it's peak?

Ledger is dead... 2 faces is dead... Razalgul is dead... who's going to be the villain? Scarecrow?

thats what i thought.

Yeah sorry, I just had to. This poster is obviously fake.

There was a brilliant shoop on the internet at some point, I just can't seem to dig it up. But as an earlier poster already said..Nothing is official.

Edit: Found some other shoops for hilarity.

(the Doc as the Riddler? Yes PLEASE! *drool* )

(Harley used to look good... )

The irony, of course, is that Ledger was completely over-hyped and, in reality, wasn't actually that good.chessmaster1989

The IRONY is that your post reads like a FACT and that it matters, whereas its just a personal OPINION that really means nothing.

Yeah I heard the same thing, I think they will make one for sure, not making one would have been like deciding not to make the last Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter or something. I bet they will have more than 3 moves just because comic books have so much to make movies on.

Anti-Venom
No he wouldn't. His entire story is only good in the comics because Batman has to go through all his major enemies to get to him since Bane breaks them out of Arkham. Thats the problem with this new series of batman films. They are far more realistic than typical comic book movies, which limits who and who cannot be included in the films. Sure characters like Mr Freeze are cool in the comics, but you can't transfer a character like that to the screen and make it seem real. Same is true for most Batman villians. In addition to that, the character has to be at least semi-well known. Sure, they could make a realistic movie with Mr Zsasz as the main villain, but nobody outside of comic book readers know who he is.

You should end anything with a blast, and TDK was perfect to fill that gap. There is no way, the sequel will be as good as TDK. They should leave it at that.

Bring Mr. Freeze and a director that can handle action scenes and I'll see it in the opening day.

I would enjoy a third installment. My absolute wish would be to have the Man-Bat as the enemy in the new film, but sadly he just doesn't fit within Nolan's vision (but just think how awesome it would be to see the Man-Bat in a realistic style).

I wouldn't mind seeing the Riddler as a sort of Jigsaw (Saw films) character for the third film. Biggest thing is, whichever villain they announce we should all take with a grain of salt. I wouldn't have pictured Aaron Eckhardt's Harvey Dent had it been announced now, or Heath Ledger's Joker. So if they do announce the Riddler or Penguin (hope not) they'll have some unique twist I think while still holding true to the character.

When i walked out of the theater after first watching TDK, i was like "wow, cant wait for number 3, i hope the Riddler is in it for the obvious reason of Nolan took the Joker and Two Face, and made the movie into a crime drama, imagine what he would do with a smart villian!!!"

Now im like **** i jinxed it, Eddy Murphy wants the play the Ridller!!!!"

God Damn..... If he gets casted, Nolan should run his but out of this debacle erst he loses his rep as a kick ass director/ screenwriter.

Wouldnt it be better if it was a movie which came out every five years? Like a big picture event, rather than just another franchise to be continually milked. The Dark Knight just released on dvd, and people are clamouring for a trailer for the third already.

Im glad someone here knows there Batman, i agree 100 %. I am willing to bet that the next villian will be The Riddler or Black Mask
