Rage against the machine VS System of a Down

Two pretty popular bands who both have used their musical talent to spread their political views.

Rate them through the content and quality of musicianship, lyrics and overall appeal.

Basically, RATM's politics appeal to middle schoolers, while SOAD's politics appeal to high schoolers.

what's the point of pulling in other bands? This is RATM vs SOAD. Not "give us your opinion on how much you hate both bands, and name which similar bands or sideprojects that are better."

This is the worst question to ask me, seeing as how they are both gods to me, and I could never EVER choose one over the other, but POLITICALLY Rage Against The MAchine, they're more straightforward, and ALL their songs deal with polotics, and SOAD is majorly influenced by politics, but not entirely,

System of a Down has far more variety to their music than RATM.  (I'm speaking from a purely musical standpoint, not lyrical.)

I find RATM rather annoying really.

Yes, but Radiohead has nothing to do with politics. This is the battle of politically influenced bands.

It's not as blatantly political enough to be regarded as a "political" band, though. I'm just kinda talking out my butt right now though, my brain is fuzzed up right now.

Their lyrics are subtle because they are poetry rather than literal proclamations of stances on political issues. They try to use analogies because they remember that music is art. http://www.radiohead.com/deadairspace/index.php?a=220 That link should verify for you that Radiohead is indeed a politically influenced band.
