[QUOTE="berserker2389"] I like this comment "How the **** would Beck know what goes on in a university?"GabuEx
Oh come on, that's totally unfair, he took that one class at Yale before dropping out.
Hey I edited the post don't mod me :([QUOTE="GabuEx"]

Hey I edited the post don't mod me :(Oh, I didn't even notice. :P
I thought you were talking about the singer. :(guynamedbilly
...then why bother posting? Feeling verbose tonight?
This reminds me of when I made a post called "The Power of Spawn". A third of the comments were from people disappointed that it was not about the comic character. Obviously not, so why bother posting?! Incidentally it was about how my ex-step brother, Jon Auer of the band The Posies has a half-brother who works for Microsoft, and that is how they got their music in the Vista WMP sample playlist. Shaking hands under the corporate table.

Because I knew that someone like yourself would post just as useless an addition to the conversation, then I'd be able to respond to that, thus increasing my post count of course.[QUOTE="Robbler"][QUOTE="guynamedbilly"]I thought you were talking about the singer. :(guynamedbilly

Point taken. Quantitative status as opposed to qualitative status seems to be all that matters around here.
My mother who watches Fox News (she doesn't take most of it seriously though, thank God) can't even stand him. Theres a very small percentage of Republicians and Conservatives that take him seriously. I will admit though that theres a few professors I've meet at WCSU (Western CT), that are sooo far left its insane, so Beck may have a point to his craziness (its a scary thought too)

Quantitative or anti-qualitative included.[QUOTE="Robbler"][QUOTE="guynamedbilly"] Because I knew that someone like yourself would post just as useless an addition to the conversation, then I'd be able to respond to that, thus increasing my post count of course.guynamedbilly

Quantitative or anti-qualitative included.Hmmm, I hate the idea of "off-topicing" this thread further, but "anti-qualitative"?! Wow. The term is all inclusive.

[QUOTE="chessmaster1989"]And people take this nutjob seriously? :lol:GabuEx
I don't think he even takes himself seriously.
His followers, however, are sadly not in on it. :P
Unfortunately a lot of people do take him seriously. He just had a HUGE turnout at that National Mall rally. I think the more you decry the state of America, without really specifying or giving good options, you know, just wholesale fearmongering, the more people will listen to you.
Saying that something isn't as good as it once was will always conjure up nostalgia in people, which gives credit to your claim.
Conservazombies will soon be touting this as gospel. I say great, I hope they follow through on this nonsense.
I wouldn't really call it a re-education camp, I mean if you're already listening to him then the additional misinformation consumption is more like an extra-curricular activity. EDIT: oops, should have read things more carefully, I thought it was asking if Beck University was a re-education camp :Plamprey263
But in your error you've pointed out how much he is trying to re-educate his followers.
The kinds of people who take this guy seriously have probably never been to college to debunk this tripe anyway. He's riding a very basic conservative, anti-government, anti-incumbent sentiment at the moment. Stunts like this are barely surprising.Danm_999
His statement doesn't make any sense when you take into account the fact that there are several conservative universities in the US as well. Did all of the military academies and religious universities suddenly become bastions of liberalism?

That's a fair point anyway. Most univeristies only REALLY have biases in humanities courses; disciplines like engineering, science and business can largely be considered apolitical. Even then, to call any university, liberal or conservative, a re-education camp, really undersells the nature of re-education camps.[QUOTE="UnknownSniper65"][QUOTE="Danm_999"]The kinds of people who take this guy seriously have probably never been to college to debunk this tripe anyway. And then if you're in the departments like music or theatre, you pretty much waive all right to complain about a liberal bias. Please Log In to post.
