Empty as defined by whom?xaos

Emptiness is solely based on the subjective feeling of the person; that's the way I interpret it anyway. If a person feels that he/she feels empty (a common, but not always, definition is lack of opportunities or inner satisfaction), then it's an empty existence.

You should do the Henry David Thoreau thing and live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere for a while, coming back to society just to make enough money to survive in the wild again for another extended period. Plus, the guy had THOR right there in his name, it doesn't get much more awesome than that.

Prisons provide medical care. Also, if you take out a loan and ever come back into society, they will want their money back. Also, don't live in any old school buses.

So I've been thinking about taking out a loan, or just taking the money I currently have, and driving out of the city with some basic supplies and about 3,000 dollars in cash that I'll use to restock on essential food/water and gas for the car. I don't really have anything planned for the next couple years, and this could end up being an interesting way to drastically shake things up a bit. Has anyone here ever lived like this before, and has any tips for me? Jeff_Goldblum
Honestly, did you just finish reading The Music of Chance (by Paul Auster) or something? :P Don't take the loan though. Don't be a drifter, I've known people who've tried it(and who are currently trying it), and it's not working out terribly well for them for the most part. One is doing ok, but he's stopping the drifter living because he came to the conclusion he wants to go back to school.

Banker: What is the reason for this loan

You:I want to live in a box for thenext couple of years

Banker: get out of my bank

But seriously, you should make a documentary of this, I'd watch it. And remember, make sure if you do this, do it somewhere where it isn't very cold in the winter.
