Ban dodger, eh?DeLurk
Lol, I just think the rules are too strict here on Gamespot. There is very little freedom of speech here if you can be told off for merely stating your opinion on a game or gaming matter.

Exactly.
I take every moderation as a badge of honor, but I don't try to get them. I say exactly what I want to say at any given time, and sometimes the mods don't like what I have to say. In those situations, I have to say I feel very sorry for them, because I'm not going to stop being myself just because I lose points or get suspended or even get banned from a gaming site.
It annoys me that you don't get to see who moderated you and that you're not allowed to discuss your moderations with other people. I mean, a trigger-happy mod can go pretty much unchecked with rules like that.luccafaceIf you ask on the Ask The Mods board, they'll usually tell you who has been moderating you. I'm guessing they'd know if a mod was going on an unfair rampage. :P
the only time moderating is bad is when we get a new set of mods, that's pretty much when you shouldn't bother posting. I feel the current mods are creating a cooling effect with threads that tend to get locked for being "on the boarder". I think alot of it is stupid users reporting everything.
I don't want to get b& though cause I don't want to have to remember another user name.
Well actually yes, I do give a damn.
I'd rather be able to post on forums and have a laugh than not and perhaps go through the trouble of creating a second account just to do that. Plus it's not exactly hard to not get moderated...

Actually, I'm glad that the community doesn't report everything. If you actually read the GS terms of use you'd see that it's this big, huge list of almost entirely ridiculous rules. Gamespot mods have vocalized, in the past, how they're frustrated with users rarely reporting anything "bad" that happens on the forums. (of course, I quote bad to emphasize that it's their idea of bad)

There's a specific moderation I got that comes to mind, but rather conveniently for the mods, I'm not allowed to talk about it.

You are correct, sir. I rarely see them criticize another mod's moderation even if they seem to disagree with it. I guess it's like that fraternal bond the police have :P
[QUOTE="SolidSnake35"]Sometimes I get the impression that the mods don't want to disagree with each other, and that stops moderations from ever being overturned... that and the fact that it's currently impossible for moderations to be removed from the user's history. :PsonicareYou are correct, sir. I rarely see them criticize another mod's moderation even if they seem to disagree with it. I guess it's like that fraternal bond the police have :P I think that's because they're all allowed their own interpretations of the ToU. I bet it's hard to be consistent.

I've only been suspended for a week once.
