No song comes close to this or this
At least in terms of guitar.

while both of those are rally good songs, i have to ask why people think the "folk guitar slap" seems to be the new pinnacle of playing.
McKee is on the only one of the who who uses slap, and thats used at timed parts of the song. The rest is tapping and/or hammer-ons/pull-offs with the odd strumming. Butler's style is unique only to him. If you look at his nails in the video given, they are insanely huge and its those nails that are the key to his style of playing.[QUOTE="z4twenny"][QUOTE="v13_KiiLtz"]

I guess i should've been more specific. i see lots of posts here and there referencing one of the many growing "slap n tap virtuosos" as the best ever. they're great musicians and songwriters but i dunno. ever feel so bombarded with something it loses its charm? i really like riverdance music, i also love native american music. but i don't think i could do solely either of them for an hour straight.
now vic wooten, i could listen to that dude all day
Also amazing. Though I admittedly don't know anything about the bass :Pnow vic wooten, i could listen to that dude all day

One must remember, a lot of the users here are naive and ignorant of subjects they think they know a lot about.

Anything off of Alice in Chains Unplugged. That album is astonishing.metallica_fan42
My favorite Unplugged album is from Alice in Chains. :)
Andy McKee's Drifting is probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen and heard on an acoustic. It's linked about, so I'm not gonna bother. :P
Going to California by Led Zeppelin is one of my personal favorites as for the best its arguable just like most things.
