Best album of the year so far?

There have been some great albums released this year, but these two are the best so far.

The Antlers- Burst Apart

The Dear Hunter- The Color Spectrum

Take Care, Take Care, Take Care by Explosions in the Sky

Also probably my favorite album packaging of all time. I wish more bands made entertainingly crafted packing for their CDs instead of just the standard jewel cases.

Runner up album of the year is The King of Limbs by Radiohead. It's short, but I think it's sweet.

I liked Tech N9ne-All 6's and 7's.

I haven't been keeping up with new releases this year, and the ones I have heard disappointed me. Welcome to my DNA wasn't bad I guess.Guppy507

I thought Welcome to my DNA was a bit more hit and miss than the other two Blackfield albums. Also some of the lyrics were kind of bad at times. It had some lovely moments though.

Yeah. Waving was the only song I actually thought was good the whole way through. Other songs had cool parts, but were less than memorable overall.

I'm really looking forward to it as well. Although, I'm sad that John Frusciante left; Josh Klinghoffer has some really big shoes to fill.

Love it.

I've only heard a few from this year all the way through, but my top two currently are Within Temptation's "The Unforgiving" and Natalia Kills' "Perfectionist." Both are really good albums for their genre (WT being power/symphonic metal and NK being pop but with actual talent and some light influences from Kate Bush and Depeche Mode can be found).

I'm hoping Tori Amos' new album will be another one to add to her catalogue of musical genious (with the exception of Under the Pink).

yea Swan Songs is great. i like American Tragedy a tad bit more than SS. Danny is doing a pretty good job imo.

Internal Cannon is the best song ever.

Some good artists in this thread. Explosions, Tech, Dear Hunter....

But this is number one hands down.

The top album for me so far is the newBon Iver... its just a great record.

Hanna OST by The Chemical Brothers

The Crysis 2 OST. This is the one I've been listening to the most. It surprised me, it's very coherent and has a unique mood despite its length. By far the best thing to come out of that game. And despite his name being plastered all over the news, Hans Zimmer only made two or three songs for it.

At the least of the albums I have listened to, I enjoyed Bon Iver, Bon Iver.

Torches by Foster the people or 2NE1's new album. But alot of my favorite bands are coming out with new albums during fall/winter

And I think Woodkid's Iron EP deserves mention for being not only one of the best records I've heard this year but prolly the best I've heard since A Lesson In Crime.
