TBH I haven't found much to inspire much this year so far. I enjoy popping on Wild Beasts - Smother. James Blake I'm just coming round too. Nothing else I've liested too is that interesting. Maybe I'm just going through a 'bored of music' phase at the moment.
Easily my choice as well, great album.Take Care, Take Care, Take Care by Explosions in the Sky
Also probably my favorite album packaging of all time. I wish more bands made entertainingly crafted packing for their CDs instead of just the standard jewel cases.

This year was rather disappointing, not as strong as 2010 (then again, that was one of the greatest years for music)
The pains of being pure at heart is sooooo incredible good. I mean, the album has a strong SP backround, and they worked with Butch, one of the greatest producers of all time. Fantastic record indeed and its my second choice.

I saw PJ Harvey twice this year, great record, and great to see her live.
So far, I bought 14 albums that came out this year. Considering 90% of my collection is rap and R&B what surprises me is the one that got the most play from me this year was this one:
As weird as she is, she impressed me with most of her album.
My other albums I have been listening to regularly that came out this year are:
Not his best work, but it's not bad either.
Good album, seems like he's following the lead of other deceased artists and releasing music after his death.
Too early to make a good judgement since I just got it today but if it's like his last albums it'll be decent. Finally,
I wasn't even going to give her a second thought until I heard she was going to tour with Nicki Minaj (currently my favorite female artist). Eventually I caved and got the whole album, which isn't really that bad.
Crowbar- Sever the Wicked Hand has been my favorite so far this year.
Other awesome releases:
The King of Limbs - Radiohead, although it's one of my least favorite albums by them so far it's still Radiohead and it still blows most other modern music out of the water for me.
I really liked this one:
Edit: Found a smaller picture.

This^ A thousand times this
The worst FF album ever, I give it a 9.5
I can't really think of anything so far, (haven't really listened to anything new yet)
But I can guess it's gonna be Megadeth's new album Th1rT3en or whatever. 8)
I'm curious filmguy, Have you listened to all the individual color EPs for the dear hunter album? Would you recommend getting all of them individually or does this CD adequately cover the material in a more concise way?
The Weeknd-House of Ballons
The album cover has nudity so I won't post it. Even though it's a few months old, I still listen to it regularly.

It's hard to say. The overall EP collection is a great bargain, but each color sounds different. Yellow is more poppy almost sounds like the Beach Boys, Black has more of a metal sound and sounds a bit like Porcupine tree, Red is hard rock, Orange is hard rockish too but it is a bit lighter, Green is folky, blue is soft rock, Indigo has a 60's psychedelic sound mixed with electronica, Violet is more orchestral, and White is soft rock mixed with the orchestral aspects of Violet. They are all good in their own ways. Orange is the least interesting one though.
