This might be old, but I just wanted to make sure that everyone knew:

Yesterday, Best Buy had an online add for an HDTV for $10

Some peope here were able to place the order, some people (myself included) ran into a dellivery failure notice on the site

Some people here posted a link to Best Buy's policy that they can correct any errors in sale price

WELL THEY DID...so if you bought it at that price, it WILL NOT BE HONORED

Here is what I saw on MSN this morning

Some customers were likely breathless as they pushed the "add to cart" button at Best Buy's Web site. The big draw? A Samsung 52-inch HDTV that appeared on the chain's Web site for the unbelievably low sale price of $9.99.

Best Buy corrected the error hours later andannounced thatany orders processedat that price would not be honored. But what's truly amazing about all this is that so many people areticked off.

Like I said, may be old news by now

But just wanted to make sure all those that got the order in successfully saw this

To good to be true, usually means it is.

Most sites have a disclaimer for this type of thing - if Best Buy doesn't then you may have legal grounds

They're not liars, it was just an error. Any kind of shop selling anything isn't an offer that you accept, it's called an "invitation to treat". It's actually you who's making the offer and Best Buy reserve the right to reject it.

It was obviously a mistake. It's not like an intentional bait-and-switch (although they've been known to do that in the past, this wasn't one of those times).

Correct. People need to understand the law before they get annoyed.

Don't shoot the messanger. I am not annoyed. Like I said in the original post, people here already posted the best buy policy about correcting online pricing. I just wanted to make sure those THAT DID get their order through knew, that is all

Ya he said they have a disclaimer and it said they have the right to correct errors in pricing. so basically there is nothing you can do.

lol! What happen to common sense? Seriously, $10? Did people honestly fail to see anything wrong with that price for an HDTV?. Im reading these comments on yahoo, and I can't believe how many people feel they should honor this price for the people who took advantage of it.

They didn't lie. Whoever typed the information made a typo, nothing more. They've already covered this with their Terms of Service:

"Errors will be corrected where discovered, and Best Buy reserves the right to revoke any stated offer and to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions including after an order has been submitted and whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged."

(LINK)

If it were on a price tag, then and only then would they be forced to honor the price, as to not do that would be construed as false or misleading advertisement.

The same thing happened a few weeks ago in Australia with a company called JB HiFi, maybe this is some sort of smart advertising. gets alot of peoples attention.

Stores have never had to honour the price on mistakes. I dont know why people get so worked up and angry over it. They didnt become the big company they are by selling $10 HDTVs.

they accidental made $999.99 - $9.99 it's an honest mistake. They can't honor, the number of order, and the actual price of the tv would make it impossible for Best buy to sell the tv for that price.

just because something is in that, doesnt mean it stands in court. if in the GS terms of use it states that by using the site you agree to surrender your firstborn child, does that make it concrete?
