Genesis before Peter Gabriel left the band in 74. One of the most underrated bands ever and still my favorite.
Other favorites include Led Zeppelin, ELO, Roxy Music, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and of course, The Beatles.

I like a lot of classic rock but here are two bands a lot of people overlook but should pick up the greatest hits for: Spirit and The Thirteenth Floor Elevators. JiveT
I had the Thirteenth Floor Elevators recommended to me yesterday. I'd like to know which one of their albums do you think is the best so I can check it out.

Hmmm. They have a Greatest Hits that you can find in stores if you are lucky. Its alright but I think they could have gotten a better mastering or something. The CD that got me into them though is calledPsychedelic Microdots Texas Twisted Volume 2. Its them playing live for this TV station and a couple other groups they have a lot more punch live than their studio recordings. ROLLERCOASTER is a great song.

first off, maiden suck my ass, second ac/dc all sounds the same, and third sabbath i would classify as classic rock or metal whichever.
This thread is totally based on opinions. You asked my opinion. In my opinion, Iron Maiden is the best band in the world. And Sabbath is definatley Metal, they were the first metal band:)Iron Maiden is a great band because Bruce translates into quality music stories, mythology, and historical accounts into the great medium that is music, like no one else has ever dared to do.
Bruce is an incredibly intelligent man who has managed to transcend sociological standards to bring us an incredible take on life/art/humanity that most are too narrow-minded to comprehend.
Yes, he is easily my favourite Maiden singer. Hallowed Be Thy Name is such a good song:DBruce was born for this, and Paul and Blaze were mere pawns to fill in during Bruce's personal intermissions in order to keep the band going. There is a reason for everything, and there is a reason why Bruce joined this band, and a reason why he came back.
(currently listening to Rainbow's Gold, B-side to the 2 Minutes To Midnight single)
Oh please, Bruce came back for the money, he wasn't making anything as a solo artist. I would have prefered him staying a solo act anyways, The Chemical Wedding owns everything Maiden has written since 1988. As a vocalist Bruce is incredible, but I've lost alot of respect for him after all the **** he's talked about American fans.[QUOTE="supermetroidfan"]Classic rock sucks. It's all about trve kvlt black metal.

How can you say that classic rock sucks, your lame. i hate people that like bands that just shredd and crap, that stuff sounds like junk, true guitar players (david gilmour, clapton...etc) can make a guitar flow with lyrics, drums and bass, not just go off on a mad rampage off dung.
winner everyone else dont even argue back...if you do its sad..
