Best Current Rock Band?

In a generation plagued by pop and rap songs, it has become super hard for me to find music I like. I mostly like rock and metal so can someone please give me some ideas of who the best current rock bands are?

plusCarter Beauford is one of the best drummers in the world.

The Killers, The Strokes, Muse, FUN, The Vaccines..

There are a lot of good new wave/postpunk revival rock bands these days

Probably Five Finger Death Punch.

The Kills. They're brilliant.

Red Hot Chili Peppers (although their most recent album sucked)

Muse (they're more alternative though)

Nickelback (yeah.....i said it)

Papa Roach (if you're into punk rock style)

Linkin Park (are they still considered rock?)

Avenged Sevenfold (metal? rock? metalcore? at least they're not gaga)

Breaking Benjamin (currently in hiatus due to band members leaving)

Green Day (they should make a new album soon)

Burn Halo (they are new-ish similar to A7X, they're pretty good)

Killswitch Engage (pretty hardcore metal

VersaEmerge (a fairly new band, similar to Paramore, although I personally enjoy sierras voice)

Shinedown

The National.

They are my absolute favorite band. I've never heard a band with such a wide array of talents.

This right here, one of my favorites also and I got to see one of their acoustic shows last month and hang out with them afterwards. Amazing talent.

Other bands that I would reccomend are

Alter Bridge (Shows that the musicians of Creed can make some amazing music when the leave Scott Stapp)

Nine Inch Nails (Trent has hinted at new NIN music this year, heres hoping for more Fragile)

Shinedown (I was incredibly disapointed with their newest song but hoping the cd is good)

Halestorm (Shows the intensity that a female vocalist can have in some heavy rock)

Bach. He's so good that even when he's dead and not a rock band he's still the best current rock band.
