80s for rock, 90s for music all around. Hip Hop is in its Golden Age that time, rock is still riding off its popularity from the previous decade, and even the pop artists aren't too bad.

80's but that's probably because i grew up in that decade. Nostalgia reasons.

Worst decade for music.....this decade. It's crap (especially rap) and we all know it. And I hate 60's rock and hippie music.

It's usually placed earlier than 1820. Beethoven was writing music that was certainly Romantic in nature as early as 1800. Some even argue that Mozart's late works bore as much resemblance to early Romanticism as they did to the CIassical style. But like all genre breaks, there could be a lot of argument about when the general style of composers firmly broke away from the CIassical era. Tough to do when the transition between the two disparate styles was accomplished so smoothly by composers like Beethoven and Schubert.
