though the best films of 2008 are coming out later this year we still have a few gems this year. This is my top 10

1. In Bruges

2. Transsiberian

3. The Counterfeiters

4. Son of Rambow

5. Encounters at the end of the world

6. The Signal

7. Diary of the dead

8. The Fall

9. Tell no one

10. Doomsday (Ditto with this homage heavy 80s style action flick)

I have not seen the dark knight yet or hellboy 2. Iron man for me was fun but not that great. Robert Downey Jr. was the great part of the film while the rest was pretty good.

Honestly, Diary of the Dead for me.

But I liked Doomsday aswell. Not to many people talk about that movie. In fact, about 1/2 the crowd that was there to see it walked out on the cannibalistic part.

It's definitely my favorite movie.

I am legend made me angry, I hated it. It was good for the first 20 minutes or so but it got bad when the monsters appeared and then it got worse when the girl and the kid arrived. Rambo however was awesome.

Yeah, could be the same for me. I thought it was pretty awesome. Not an award winning script or anything, but it was very entertaining.

This thread has made me realize how few good movies Ive actually seen this year so far though. Ive missed most of the reccommended ones, and seen the crappy crap ones.

The only film I've seen this year that I consider good is The Bank Job. Unfortunately, I haven't been watching the films coming out this year because I've been watching a bunch of films made years ago (I don't think it's really unfortunate at all actually since I'm discovering all kinds of treasure that I'm glad I got to see), but I will be able to catch The Dark Knight soon.

Out of the movies that I've seen, the best ones were Iron Man, Kung Fu Panda, Wanted, and Wall-E. I'm going to see The Dark Knight tomorrow and I'm expecting it to be the best.

i will reserve judgement on the dark knight until i see it, but it kinda reminds me of the iron man hype with it being called best film of the year. not saying iron man was bad but i didnt think it was that great.

2. Iron Man (it has grown tremendously on me, due to Robert Downey Jr. and the script, but Favreau still has room to improve)

Why is that hard for you to admit?

I pratically had to be dragged to the cinema to see it. I thought it was going to be another average animated family film - like Cars. I was wrong and I don't like being wrong :(

Don't get me wrong, I quite like the Disney Pixar films but WALL-E was incredible.

Yes, but just because they don't particularly care for a few mainstream hits doesn't mean they dislike all the famous films out there.

No, I'm pretty sure he has said crap about the orginal trilogy of Star Wars and a few others. That was just one example.

I dont hate famous movies, there just happens to be many good lesser known films. I really liked batman begins, maybe back then I waS Less into it. My favorite comic book movie is a tough one, Flash Gordan, Sin City, A history of violence, road to perdition Spider Man 2, Blade 2 crow, or american splendor. Batman Begins is up there though.

Yes, but just because they don't particularly care for a few mainstream hits doesn't mean they dislike all the famous films out there.

No, I'm pretty sure he has said crap about the orginal trilogy of Star Wars and a few others. That was just one example.

I dont think i ever called the original star wars films crap, overrated sure but not crap by any means.

1) The Dark Knight

2) In Bruges

3) Wall-E

4) Get Smart

5) Indiana Jones 4

I think those are the only 2008 movies I've seen so far

1. Wall-E

2. Iron Man (it has grown tremendously on me, due to Robert Downey Jr. and the script, but Favreau still has room to improve)

3. The Incredible Hulk

4. Speed Racer

5. Kung-Fu Panda

6. Cloverfield

And that's all I've seen.

Wow you are really missing out on some really good films this year, Transsiberian is out now I think and In Bruges is out on DVD. Those 2 are great places to start so are the others I mentioned.

film-guy, if a movie is famous do you not like it or something? I remember you saying that Batman begins was alright. It was NOT alright. It was incredible. Also what is your favorite comic book movie?

I agree about Batman Begins, but you're being a bit unfair, no?

Unfair? How so? And you agree with me, right?

nah i meant you said crap but not that you called it crap. lol im a really biased star wars fan, so thats why i went a little over dramatic. :P but honestly dude, dark knight is really good. even if im extremely biased, the critics overall are giving it an A- so don't just take my word for it.

In Bruges, Iron Man and Hellboy 2. I haven't seen too many films this year, but the ones I've seen have been good.

I am really looking forward to seeing it, i never trust a critics review however.

I haven't watch Drak Knight so I can't include it.

Iron Man, Kung Fu Panda and 21 for me.
