well, I shouln't say that it is THE best... but it is certainly one of them. Also, Jonny Greenwood does amazing (though sadly short) solos.

Never said that I liked it :P. The solo, is a bit too long for me.I wouldnt say it was the best, but Audioslave usually has some unique guitar solos.
for the best, i think its pink floyd-comfortably numb. its not fast or extremely difficult, but its just so peaceful and full of soul.

I love the solo in "money" as well.
There are many, and it's not just metal bands. Pink Floyd, for example had some great guitar work over the years. Jimmi Hendrix? Nirvanna? So which band/song IYO has the best guitar solo?Wslacker
Hahahahahahahaahahahahaahahahaahahahahahahaah Nirvana...oh god....Hahahhaahahahahahahahaha...I'm gonna cry. As for best solo, well it's basically impossible to decide on a "best solo" as for my favorite hmm, probably the one in Whole Lotta Love after the vocal/drum solo, I know it's nowhere near the best technically, hell its not even Pages hardest solo, just how its led into with the vocal/drum solo, and the way Page plays it are just things of beauty.
EDIT: And I suppose it was unfair of me to laugh at Nirvana, I guess some people might find those solo's to be great...Just not I.
Any Dragonforce song. I also like Master of Puppets by Metallica...Funkdaddy13
Which one on Master of Puppets? The first solo has always been my favourite for the song, and my second favourite of all time.
yeah money is great too..actually i like all pink floyd solos. especially songs like echoes that are 14 minutes long.
and you were justified laughing at nirvana. one of my favorite bands. but kurt wasnt the greatest guitar player. its more of a bridge usually then a solo lol.

However, Kurt Cobain, is undoubtly one of the greatest song writers of the 90's (he's up there with Jeff Mangum and Thurston Moore).

Personally I'm not much of a fan of his song writing, dunno, just doesn't do it for me.[QUOTE="formaldehyde27"]yeah money is great too..actually i like all pink floyd solos. especially songs like echoes that are 14 minutes long.

you will most definatly not get an arguement from me. as i said, one of my favorite bands. his passion for music is matched by only a few.
I dunno about guitar solos but this is the best song ever made

Fade to Black by Metallica. It wasn't played superhumanly fast, but it did have more emotion than most others, and to me just sounded better.aaaaarrrrggggg
Agreed
For Whom the Bell Tolls-Metallica. I just love every bit of that song.
Texas Flood-Stevie Ray Vaughn. Incredible, that's all I need to say.
Burn-Deep Purple. Another of my favorites. That's all I will list for now.
I personally believe this is one of the best I have heard (as well as most difficult): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPfZVflJdp0
