My favorite (and by extension the best) guitarist in my opinion is Buckethead. He was placed in the top 10 so you have to give him credit. Who do YOU think is the best?
Yeah, he's amazing. No one can play in the style he does, he's in a class of his own. My personal favorites are Eric Clapton, then George Harrison, then Gilmour. As for the technical best, I wouldn't know, and I don't think it's possible for anyone to really answer that.
Daron Malakian. I don't know anyone who can pull off BYOB's intro like he does. There's also a sweet solo he does that sounds hard to play in "Lonely Day"
Robert Johnson. There is a cool video on youtube where eric Clapton explains how what Johnson plays is nearly impossible and requires two peoplekurtoronie

Dragonforce uses two guitars. The lead guitarist isnt playing all of that.

Dragonforce is overrated.They are absolutely terrible live and they can't mimic what they due in the studio.All their music is basically done with electronics and they try and get away with it live by playing really fast.Now,the best guitarist in my opinion is Alex Lifeson.Can't tell the difference between his studio playing and live performance.

Eh, I don't think "fast" can be translated into "good". That kind of thing just doesn't do anything for me; I don't feel any emotion, soul, or passion when listening to bands like Dragonforce.

Jonas Bryssling from Spawn of Possession is my favorite guitarist. Technical, but still can make a very dark dark atmosphere with the music. I like it.
