Well, why didn't you like PoA?

I dont know, the plot, the character progression, the year at howarts (it really didnt felt special to watch them receiving their class and it was boring to do so) and I didnt liked how voldemort was completly absent

Well, Voldemort was absent in the book. Each to his own, but I found the drama concerning Sirius, Wormtail, Harry's father and Lupin to be very original compared to the concepts in the books that came before it.

First and second, they followed the books the best. I would say the third as well but I hated that stupid, unnecessary shrunken head on the Knight Bus.

Goblet of Fire is my favorite. :D It's not the most faithful to the book but it's hilarious and there are so many laugh-out-loud moments in the movie. I love it as a film. Order of the Phoenix, which is my favorite of the books, is my least favorite movie though... They left out too much and put in too little. :?

That book is a monster though and has a bunch of "fat". So they had no choice but to cut stuff to fit into two and a half hours and make it watchable. People are going to hate me for saying this, but I thought that the OoTP movie did some things better than the book. It was much more focused and it seemed to focus more on the main draw of OoTP, which IMO was Umbridge.

I agree that Goblet was the funniest though.

Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone. Don't get me wrong, I really like the new movies, but the style has completely changed and I feel like they've lost the magical setting I imagine when I read the books.

Is it just me or is Emma Watson a WAY better actress in Azkaban than she was in all the others. I was shocked by how much she declined in GoF. She's gotten better since, but still...

GreySeal9

Yeah she was TERRIBLE in Gof lol... I was uncomfortable every time she came on screen. Same with the guy who played Dumbledore.. I mean holy out of character batman he freaked out at time for no reason going HARRY WHO WAS THE THIRD MAN IN THE ROOM?!!?.. while shaking harry and pinning him against the wall wtf was that Dumbledore would never do that..

Oh God Gambon is such a bad Dumbledore, I'm actually glad he's dead now. No one can match the poise Richard Harris had. RIP

Michael Gambon is actually pretty excellent as Dumbledore (save for some weird moments) in the other movies IMO, but I agree Dumbledore's freak out was entirely the wrong way to go about that scene. They were aiming for drama and it just came off as...inappropriate and not Dumbledore-like.

I agree that Watson made caused discomfort. She overracted x1000.

Dumbledore will be in the 7th movie, so...he's dead, but not gone.

I actually think Gambon is better than Harris. There are a few ill-advised scenes with Dumbledore (such as the one that VendettaRed pointed out) but overall, I think that Gambon has more "fire" or "spark" than Harris did. I respect Harris as an actor, but I think that his Dumbledore was boring. He just seemed like another generic old wizard dude. Gambon was almost "exotic". He looked more interesting and seemed "stronger" and more "powerful". If Gambon's Dumbledore dueled Harris's Dumbledore, Gambon's would win handily.

I also don't think Harris's Dumbledore would look as cool breaking out the fire lasso in the cave in HBP.

I would have to say the Half Blood Prince, even though it was by far one of my less favorite of the books. But with the movie I guess the director found the right style for it. Yes, they left out a lot and yes, they had to change things. But those changes were made to keep the original feel of the book. HBP focused on the characters more, and was able to make you care about them more than any harry potter movie previously. HBP also slowed down it's pacing and gave each scene and each shot time to fully develop, even if it had to cut out a few more scenes from the book to do so. The effect was that even with less scenes from the book, when there was finally snow outside Hogwarts it actually felt like enough time could have passed for it to be winter. The same goes for when the snow finally melts. In the other harry potter movies I never could get around the fact that it seemed like one day there was randomly snow outside the castle and then another day there just wasn't So although I would order my preference of books as: 7,5,3,4,6,1,2 i have to say that 6 is my favorite of the movies so far.

Movie six had some good moments..The gini scene with ron..Did you do it..Harry turns to him thinks he is talking about the kiss..Ron says hide the book..Harry looks at him an says oh ya..Ron getting some back bone in quittich sorry if misspelled lol..Think the last movie is great..

Like the fifth one also with umbridge an the twins..Was a good movie..

Liked the director the best in the first two..

Azkaban is probubly my fav..Like every one else here

Goblit of fire for me was just ok..What made it good for me was the dragons..Im a big dnd fan lol..

The next two movies look great imho..Its been fun to watch the cast grow up..See them change over the years..Its odd that is coming to a close..Im sure they cant wait to move on with there lives though..What is it now 10 years since they started this..Most want to move on an have other carreers..Its also sad for us will never see them again..Emma turned out cuter than i thought she would over the years..She was such a dog as a kid..She grew up an looks good in my eyes..Ron is funny shortest one of the cast, an hes the tallest now..How about Harry, i mean he changed a lot also..

Hope they add the part at the end..Where you see Harry an Ginny walking towards the train with the small family..The two kids an harry explaining to them about hogwarts..Who wouldve guessed that the dork Nevil Longbottum would take over an rule hogwarts..Didnt see this one coming

The person who said about harry having no back bound..Forget what movie it was in..He even says in the movie..Nearly had help every time i was around..Its not easy..Harmonie says hes just being modest..He conjured a protronus, its very advanced magic..He is a good wizard just young..Hes no Tom Riddle nor is he best in his class either..People are just trying to kill the poort kid because he lived..Its not his fault..How would you be if people where trying to kill you your whole life..Hes been scared since he was like 9 years old..Never has had a normal child hood..Until he actually kills Tom Riddle aka voldemort at the end of book seven..Im sure after that the kid sleeps for weeks an doesnt even do much..Hed be releaved the whole thing is over...Sure there are people around him who help..There are also people around who care for the kid..Hes orphaned give harry a break also..Never new his mom dad only family he had..Was killed from that girl..Btw she is like the best actress also..Plays her part very well..She gives life to her character..Dont even no who she is nor saw her in any other movie..

Ill be sad for sure to see this thing end..Sad when the books stopped..Even though she hinted she will make another series in 10 years..Ill be 50 than an will i read it heck yes..Just like ill be gaming till im 90 ):

Why? The first two movies got the worst critical reception, so he's hardly saying something radical.

I agree with the critics. First two are easily the worst. The later ones are far more creative and have more visual fair. They also have more sophisticated story lines.

Also, although the books are better, there are some things the movies arguably do better. The beautiful visuals of the movies>Rowling's clunky prose. And the movies cut a lot of fat from the books. Actually, the main reason the movies are inferior to the books is because the characters are handled far better in the books, the books have far better dialogue and the books are more immersive. I think the movies are more polished though.
