It's a tough call for me between the original Terminator and Aliens.

Tough choice between Aliens, T1, T2, and Avatar... Titanic isn't even close...chessmaster1989Actually, I'm sure Titanic is a much better movie than Avatar, and I haven't even seen Avatar yet. :|
How dare you put Avatar in that poll... :|JustPlainLucasHow dare he put one of the director's most talked about films in there!
That isn't worth being put above a legendary film like Terminator 2, which doesn't entirely rely on its special effects? :oJustPlainLucas
I haven't even seen Avatar yet. :|JustPlainLucas
How would you know that?

No, imo Avatar is much better. And I don't care much for your opinion on the subject if you haven't even seen Avatar. :|

It didn't use amazing amounts of CGI, but CGI wasn't a household tool for industries at the time. It still did use a crapload of other special effects techniques.
You don't have to like Avatar. This thread is about what YOUR favorite James Cameron film. If you didn't like that, then cool. But that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be in the poll. A lot of people seem to disagree with you anyways.

Terminator 2, anyone who says Avatar is buggin'Toriko42Why is it that some people act like Avatar is a film that can't be liked by others? Jeez, you people act like it's a terrible film and that it can't be liked more than other films for some people. I also just came to learn that some people who haven't even seen the film are actually bashing it as if they did see it. I really don't know what to say to that.

Yeah, I learned... But really, this "Special effects power" argument crap is just ridiculous. Especially when you talk about a James Cameron film. Even before CGI, all his films have relied heavily on special effects in some shape or form. In a way, all his films could be considered "Special effects films". I think it's just a flawed argument, and people who complain about probably aren't fond of Cameron to begin with or they have some personal hatred towards CGI as a medium, even if it was done exceptionally well.[QUOTE="chessmaster1989"][QUOTE="Nerd_Man"] If Avatar was, then Terminator 2 pretty much was a special effects film too. CGI (imo) is a perfectly legitimate form of cinematography... hell, it's even funnier when I see people who praise animated films turn around and bash movies that rely heavily on CGI...
Haven't seen Avatar yet. That being said, best I've seen is T2. (Aliens was real freaking good too...)
T1, much better than that rubbish that was T2.Neon-TigerRubb...ish? Care to explain why? I feel like you'll point out discrepancies with the time travel/time line though, and since nobody actually knows what happens with time travel (All theoretical...) I have to ask what made it bad? T1 was more definitely an adult film but T2 passed it up in terms of almost everything else.
