So me and my buds where talking about oldschool vs. new school rap he defended the oldschool while I the new school. Whilst I admit todays new rappers suck ass some of them are actually quite good except Drake in my opinion but I will put on here for fairness purposes. But I think Kid Cudi is the best out right now his lyrics are really relatable and mean something instead of always talking about how many drugs you can push and how many girls you have. I would put Asher Roth i mean hes good but to everyone else he doesnt compare.

I don't think I'd hear any rap music at a Yoga studio, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

Out of those 5, I'd say B.o.B. I'm not really a fan of rap, but from what I've heard B.o.B is the best out of that group, in my opinion.

Kid Cudi or sure, I've haven't been excited about an album release in a long time. Lupe is a strong 2nd though.

Not bad, I like him more as a singer than a rapper though.

I like what I've heard from most of the rappers on the poll, but haven't heard enough to pick a favorite. B.o.B is performing a free concert on my campus Thursday, so hoping its good.

I thought Kid Cudi's and B.O.B's debuts were disappointing. I haven't listens to Drake's but I didn't like any of his singles he put out so I'm really eagerr. I was really in to Lupe a few years ago but now I can't even listen to him anymore cause he sounds chessy. Plus it was a bad move for him for not realising an album in almost 3 years and pretending he was gong to retire.

J.Cole has the most potential cause he hasn't released an album but if it's anything like his Warm-up mixtape then it will be awesome. You should check that mixtape out if you haven't yet.

Most of the guys you have on the list except for Lupe Fiasco made their names singing the hook as well as rapping. In terms of technical abilities, I would say that Lupe Fiasco is the best out of the list. Bobby Ray's rhyme schemes really isn't that special and Kid Cudi is a better singer than rapper. Drake is more like the Justin Timberlake of rap, he can sing and rap, but doesn't excel at either.

Up there were some of my favorites from his mixtape. He's rapping is much more raw which is a better change up when listening Cudi or Drake.

Of that list it's either J.Cole or Lupe for me. Lupe's released two solid albums already so I'd go with him.

Drake easily. Most people hate him for some reason, but hey, he isn't rapping about "the ghetto" or being "raised by the streets" and crap like that; way too many rappers talk about that stuff, it's old now. Plus he is the only rapper I like really, considering I never cared for rap pretty much until he showed up.

The problem I got with Drake is every other one of his song is always about how awesome he is. Seriously his album is call Thank Me Later....For what exactly? The other rappers gloat about how good they are but are more humble also the ones listed have better flow and are more diverse in subject matter.

Where is Wale, Shad, Wiz Khalifa, BIG KRIT, Charles Hamilton? out of all the people on the list it would be a tie with J.Cole and Lupe although lupe's lazers fiasco is starting to make me angry.

Yeah I know what you mean, it does get a bit annoying; but most of the people I see are saying he can't rap, which is complete BS, because he has some really good lines in his songs.

Well Jay Electronica, Blu & Curren$y are some of my favorites... none of them have been putting out much music lately outside of Curren$y though. Out of your list I have to go with J. Cole. I guess Curren$y isn't exactly a new age rapper since he's been around since the later No Limit and Cash Money eras, but he has never really made a name for himself until recently. And his debut album, This Ain't No Mixtape, was only released a year ago.

Curren$y feat. Stalley - "Address"

Curren$y - "Power Button"

I like what I've heard from most of the rappers on the poll, but haven't heard enough to pick a favorite. B.o.B is performing a free concert on my campus Thursday, so hoping its good.

CommanderShiro

I might be going to that. It doesn't help that they are actually going to be checking for student ID's this time lol.

I choose b.o.b., but I can only think of that "Airplane" song (but I enjoyed his part in it).
I can't think of anything by the others, with the exception of Drake... Who I found almost laughably bad when I heard him on TV :P

Kid Cudi. Whenever I listen to his songs I just stop what I'm doing and listen to his lyrics. Also taught me to basically do whatever you want to do and don't listen to anybody but yourself. Can't wait for his new album.
