Well Jay Electronica, Blu & Curren$y are some of my favorites... none of them have been putting out much music lately outside of Curren$y though. Out of your list I have to go with J. Cole. I guess Curren$y isn't exactly a new age rapper since he's been around since the later No Limit and Cash Money eras, but he has never really made a name for himself until recently. And his debut album, This Ain't No Mixtape, was only released a year ago.

I like what I've heard from most of the rappers on the poll, but haven't heard enough to pick a favorite. B.o.B is performing a free concert on my campus Thursday, so hoping its good.

I might be going to that. It doesn't help that they are actually going to be checking for student ID's this time lol.

I'd love to see more released by Jay Electronica. And about the B.o.B concert.... Its probably because of what happened at the Ludacris concert last year. Some of my friends are still going to try to sneak in.

They arent really good at all and Nikki makes herself sound and act like a whore so I saw no point in putting her on there. Other rappers I didnt put(Jay Electronica Charles Hamilton Wale Chip Tha Ripper)and some others b/c didnt think many people knew about them. CH Neh Neh Neh with Cory Gunz goes hard. And Jay Electronica and J.Cole on the RE Just Begun makes that track go hard also. Even though I said Kid Cudi J.Cole comes right after b/c he flows so nice refrencing "Lights Please" and "Grown Simba". And for somone who said Asher roth he is good also but J.Cole and Cudi can out flow him easily. Although Ashers new mixtaped Seared(for short)is really good and I like how each track flows into each other the best ones being Confidence/Im Eddy/ Ash and Dem/Sour Patch Kids remix. Also I luv old school also but this was about the future and with people like Gucci mane/Weezy/Flocka in the mainstream these other rappers are the only hope for good music. *Note Lil Wayne was good at one point but after the Carter 3 he went down hill and wasnt making much sense to me lyrically and how he was doing it trying to be a rockstar its cool and all but only if your a real rockstar which he wont and never will be.

Need to catch up on him then. Heres some good Evidence songs though listening to these should help you decide how you feel about Evidence and this and this.

Actually some good 90s rappers still do rap just not mainsteam anymore. Talib Kweli still does his thing so does Mos Def and Nas just recently did his thing with Damien Marley wich was really good. And if Alchemist is still producing beats for real artists I dont think it will die.

Consequence has been putting out mixtapes since the early 2000's and he was basically the third rapper on A Tribe Called Quest's later albums.

A Tribe Called Quest feat. Consequence - "Stressed Out" (Live on David Letterman, 1996)

Cons looks like Lupe lol. Not exactly new.

Evidence is in Dialated Peoples and been putting out music for 10+ years. His solo albums are recent but he's been around for awhile.

Wiz seems like hes trying to be like Lupe to much in my opinion reason for the lack of speaking of him.
