Tchaikovsky 6-4 - At the risk of sounding overly romantic, this is one of the saddest things I have ever experienced, even more so when hearing it live. I can feel Tchaikovsky pouring his soul into this piece, and at points I can hear the music wail. Raw, unadulterated emotion seeps out of every bar of this movement. I could make a similar case for Mahler's 9-4.
If we're talking a technicality here, since none of the above are 'songs', then Poem Song is pretty moving.
