Aliens

They're still using parts of it in movie trailers more than 20 years after the film's release.

"Dances With Wolves" scored by John Barry

"Lonesome Dove" scored by Basil Poledouris

"The Live Aquatic w/ Steve Zissou"was a fine soundtrack.

I guess I'm in the minority when I think Mansell's work in The Fountain was a lot better than in Requiem For A Dream or Pi.MoonSpoon

I'm mostly with you on that, I haven't seen Pi but I prefer the Fountain score to Requiem for a Dream's music

I wouldn't say much better though as they are both incredible

The Fountain's score was really, really well done. I'd have a hard time picking a favourite of all time, but it'd rank up there with Lost in Translation, Donnie Darko, and Friday Night Lights.

Definitely The Fountain. Clint Mansell...oh man, he's amazing.

He's so good, his music actually made me like some parts of Smokin Aces. Dead Reckoning is such a great song.

Uh...Philip Glass, anyone? He does so many movies, but most people don't realize how good he is. IMO, definitely better than Clint Mansell (I thought the Requiem For A Dream soundtrack was boring).

Anything by Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, The Last Samurai), Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek and other things), Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings).

Cannot stand: John Williams (too repetitive, I hate how I can hear Indiana Jones and Star Wars music in just about anything else he composes) and James Horner (also too repetitive, like I can hear bits of Titanic music in a lot of his other work). Don't get me wrong, I do like some of the music to Star Wars, I just get fed up of John Williams stuff after a while.

Not a movie, a TV show. Friday Night Lights. It has to be good, seeing as it was made by Explosions in the Sky.

I think the TV show makes poor use of the Explosions in the Sky pieces. Once in awhile, there are some good songs on that show though. The movie's soundtrack on the other hand is great. Your Hand in Mine with strings is wonderful.

Anyways, to add to what I said in my other post, Solaris.

I think certain albums apply to certain seasons. Yeah, I love Nick Drake... His music reminds me of my childhood. What do you think of Vashti Bunyan around this time of year?
