The Fountain
Requiem for a Dream
Star Wars
Indiana Jones
Donnie Darko
Pirates of the Carribean
Lord of the Rings
Schindler's List
Jurassic Park
anything else from Clint Mansell or John Williams is probably great
"Dances With Wolves" scored by John Barry
"Lonesome Dove" scored by Basil Poledouris
"The Live Aquatic w/ Steve Zissou"was a fine soundtrack.
[QUOTE="darkodonnie"]What about Micheal Andrews Donnie Darko OST?The Fountain
Requiem for a Dream
Star Wars

hit submit before adding the whole list, but its been edited in :)
I guess I'm in the minority when I think Mansell's work in The Fountain was a lot better than in Requiem For A Dream or Pi.MoonSpoon
I'm mostly with you on that, I haven't seen Pi but I prefer the Fountain score to Requiem for a Dream's music
I wouldn't say much better though as they are both incredible
The Fountain's score was really, really well done. I'd have a hard time picking a favourite of all time, but it'd rank up there with Lost in Translation, Donnie Darko, and Friday Night Lights.Lockedge
WOAH How could I forget Friday Night lights!
Definitely The Fountain. Clint Mansell...oh man, he's amazing.Ahh now i need to get the Smokin Aces OST D:
He's so good, his music actually made me like some parts of Smokin Aces. Dead Reckoning is such a great song.

Anything by Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, The Last Samurai), Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek and other things), Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings).
Cannot stand: John Williams (too repetitive, I hate how I can hear Indiana Jones and Star Wars music in just about anything else he composes) and James Horner (also too repetitive, like I can hear bits of Titanic music in a lot of his other work). Don't get me wrong, I do like some of the music to Star Wars, I just get fed up of John Williams stuff after a while.
I think the TV show makes poor use of the Explosions in the Sky pieces. Once in awhile, there are some good songs on that show though. The movie's soundtrack on the other hand is great. Your Hand in Mine with strings is wonderful.
Anyways, to add to what I said in my other post, Solaris.

Yeah, I don't really like the show. I only like the music.
Is Eluvium's Prelude For Time Feelers in a pretentious indie film yet?
If not, it should be.
MoonSpoon
It's definitely a beautiful song. Copia is no Talk Amongst the Trees though.
Talk Amongst The Trees is the perfect autumn album for myself.MoonSpoon
Yeah, it's fantastic. My perfect autumn album would have to be Yo La Tengo's "Painful".
That's a good one.
I also like folk stuff during this time of the year. Nick Drake, for example.
MoonSpoon
I think certain albums apply to certain seasons. Yeah, I love Nick Drake... His music reminds me of my childhood. What do you think of Vashti Bunyan around this time of year?
Last of the Mohicans for sure.EwanMac
ding ding ding, we have a winner. Tell him what he's won, Todd.
Elliot Smith Suicide scene FTW!28 Days Later is an obvious because of Godspeed You! Black Emperor...
