Best shock ending in a movie?

The ending of American History X was pretty unexpected.

I would say...Fight Club, The Usual Susupects, The Others, The Sixth Sense. And, even tho I've never seen the movie, Choke. I read the book, and the ending twisted quite well, I would assume the movie ends the same.

Seven was the absolute ****, and the ending of that movie is simply epic. That is EXACTLY the movie I was thinking about.

I don't see how the popularity of a movie should make it any worse. It was a fantastic movie regardless and still is. Don't be shy!

Videodrome was pretty shocking (and a little confusing...), as was History of Violence, and Ravenous, and many other Cronenburg-y movies.

It was pretty predictable to me, I could easily guess he was going to end up being on the run again. Its not a new thing for a superhero to be an outlaw or an outcast.

I loved Ravenous, very darkly funny film. Especially the bear trap part at the end and Robert Carlyle's line "That was sneaky:P"

Planet of the apes was crazy shocking :D I also want to say The Blair witch Project had an awesome ending annnnd Donnie Darko ..... that was just a messed up ending hahaBlairisawesome

I'll have to say I did not expect No Country For Old Men to end the way it did, or unfold the way it did....it kinda ended with no closure..I wanted more information!..:x

Urm, i don't really get shocked, but I was silly and didn't catch on to Sith Sense until that ending came.

I totally forgot about The Mist, hardly anyone i know has seen it, which is a shame as it's a great flick.

Speaking for myself, it wasn't a shock per se (really, c'mon Eli,) but just the suddeness of There Will Be Blood's ending was great.

"The Machinist" ending was a big kick in the nuts.

My initial thought when seeing this thread. The whole build up to the fridge opening and the revelation that followed was just incredible.
