What is, in your opinion, the best 2nd album released by an artist? Tell us your favorite track on that album too!

My favorite at the moment is Frank Black's Teenager of the Year. It's a lot more direct than his first solo album and you can feel his sound has taken a departure from Pixies without sacrificing what made the band so great in the first place. Key track : Headache.

Sigur Ros: Agaetis Byrjun

The whole album is my favorite song, but probably song #9, the title track.

Deja Entendu-Brand New, first album was meh. Probably my number 1 favorite album by any band, lyrically very deep. Can't choose a favorite song off the album, they are all amazing.

The Killers - Sam's Town

Amazing album, by far the best from them. I never understood why the fans hated it so much.

Smashing pumpkins - Siamese Dream

One of my most played albums of all time, just brilliant ,and deserves all the praise it gets

Yah, that's my favorite Killers album, makes my top 5 list of favorite albums. Admittedly I didn't like it initially, but the more I listened to it, the more I liked it.

While I probably should go with Closer by Joy Division, I'll say Separation Sunday by The Hold Steady.

Err, I'm up in the air with the two, although the lyrics in The Devil and God get even deeper. What do you think of their new CD? Idk, I'm kind of disappointed to be honest, I guess I have to listen to it more.

Excellent album indeed. It was my 3rd favorite album of the decade.

But I would say the best sophomore album of all time is

Genius, life changing album indeed.

I've only listened to it twice. I was really disappointed with it. It might grow on me, though. The Devil and the God really grew on me. I'm seeing them live in a few weeks.

That's awesome, I saw they were coming to Colorado in January, I might try to get tix to that. Yah, I was the same way, after Deja, it took me quite a few listens to truly like The Devil and God. I guess it's not that Daisy is bad, but it's hard to surpass all their previous work.

It just feels like the lyrics are lacking, especially compared to The Devil and the God.

Of course, Broken by NIN. Really upped the ante from PHM and showed the direction NIN would go on from there.

I still can't fathom how they managed to move from such an awful album as Pablo Honey to The Bends.
