Who do you think is a better villain of the two?
I'm referring to the two characters' portrayals in The Dark Knight and the Harry Potter films respectively, not from the original source material.

It's Joker, though I like them both.
Joker: Unpredicatable, mysterious past has been portrayed greatly by Mark Hamil and Heath Ledger. Great, great villian and probably the #1 comic book villian of all time.
Voldemort: He has an interesting past, and I 'd like to see J.K write a more adult oriented book that focuses on that, or on the Mauraders. He's a good character but to comapare whether he is better then the Joker isn't that great of a match up, because realistically Voldemort could Avada Kadavra anyone, making him as over powered as Superman. Yet Joker goes to such dark depths that Voldemort couldn't compete at all.

I'm talking about villainy in terms of flat-out nastiness and psychosis. Sure, Vader is menacing, but Joker would laugh right in his face.
Let's put this in simpler terms:
Mark Hamill's Joker >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> James Earl Jones' Vader

Silly, Darth Vader isn't a villain.
I'm 26 and even before the prequels came out and I watched the movies as a kid - he was just a henceman to me. I honestly thought he was just another stormtrooper that ranked up, got a black suit, and used a lightsaber. He got beat by a padawan with ease.
When I watched part 2(or Episode V - Empire Strikes Back) that I felt he was a villain, but then I seen part 3(or Episode VI - Return of the Jedi) where he became the hero of the prophecy.
I won't discuss Episodes I-III, cause was just a cry baby throughout all three - Greatest Villain He Is NOT. Wouldn't even place Vader in my top 20 villains.
Joker is the greatest villain in popular culture history.
Darth Vader would like to have a word with you Darth Vader was a tool. Villain yes, but far from greatest. The emporer was 10x more of a villiain than Vader ever was and DIED one as well.Id say voldermort since he seems like more of a genuine threat. He is basically hitler with near god-like powers and 7 1-ups
Wow OT is slow today...
Completely different characters, how are these even comparable? Obviously Joker's going to get the love in OT because HP is far too mainstream and not 'edgy' and 'hip' enough.
I don't even really like Batman and I would say the Joker no contest.Sunsha
What's that you say? :evil::evil:
