Why do you choose either side?
I guess democrat if I had only those two to choose from
You seem like a very reasonable and pragmatic individual that would disregard the dogma of both parties and come up with your ideas based on your own research. That being said, I'm surprised by your answer. Not that it's necessarily a bad one.

Not a big fan of the social conservative attitudes so they can get votes from the religious right, or the far right wing radical rhetoric to pander to the Tea Party
Also, I'm a scientist so all of that anti-science bullshit doesn't really fly with me

I feel the same way.
Really not a republican, just anti-democrat.
This is the greatest quote in the history of politics.
If I did live in the states, it would really depend on the state I lived in, but most likely Democratic.

Why would it depend on the state you lived in?
Air what happened to your thread. I wanted to possibly mock you
Turned out to be fake.
That was what I was going to rib you about, but didn't know if it was a ploy to trick OT and make some point about gullibility

I would never knowingly trick OT, which is why I deleted the thread once I found out.
Republican because I live in the Commonwealth. None of them Hollywood Democratics lies ever benefit my city.
I consider both parties to be on the opposite sides of the spectrum of wrong. I exercise my American right not to vote. It's not like anything's going to change.
Come at me.
Years ago I used to vote Republican because I considered them least of two evils, though it bothers me how they blur the line between religion and state. I suppose if you held a gun to my head I would vote Republican.
Non Partisan
but I am socially liberal so I tend to vote Democrat in National Elections. In local Elections I vote for both parties equally depending on the Candidate.

Not sure if serious

I'm a scientist
I'm a scientist
What kind of a scientist?
Biologist
Why?
You're like a real scientist? Published and peer reviewed and all that stuff?
As opposed to what?
Yes, I have my name on peer reviewed publications
As opposed to a "self-proclaimed" scientist.

Okay, well I'm a biologist

I identify with the Democratic party's platforms much more so than Republicans. Social Conservatism is a disease.
Libertarian, although I tend to vote republican because I agree more with their fiscal policies.
This is surprising considering the Republican party's actions are the exact opposite of their stated fiscal policies.
The episode of Futurama featuring the Nixon-head election really exemplifies modern US politics. The whole "John Jackson" and "Jack Johnson" deal. Except for some crazies on the republican side of the fence, you are basically getting the same thing voting for either party's candidate. Depending on which party is voted into office, it just tends to bend some current legislation one way or the other.
It's impossible to sum up any one person's political views as "one or the other". Many Americans, if pressed for more detailed answers, would likely have positions on things that fall on both sides of the fence, or on neither.
Me, being Canadian, do not identify with American political standards. On most political "alignment" quizzes, I generally fall near centre economically (that means I am neither right- nor left-leaning when it comes to a government's spending) and am usually fairly distant from any sort of authoritarian regime (i.e. I prefer a citizenry to have personal freedoms than not). So based on a similar evaluation of both Republican and Democrat party platforms, I'm neither.

No reason in particular. You don't come off as a "scientist" to me, but again we rarely discuss biology so its hard to tell anyway.
Besides, I'd imagine that a scientist has better things to do with his time.

I think the all Republican party's actions are the exact opposite of their actual stands, except for war mongering.
