The Russians also had to work in an environment filled with particles from the pencil. It's probably not good for the people OR the instruments.
Titanic and hindenburg were only mentioned once! Those are pretty famous only because they ****ed up so bad! Bay of Pigs was also a bad one.
that Anglo-zanzibar war article in wikipedia says that it doesn't site any references or sources (which it dind't) so I wouldn't use that as a reference, especially since I don't know a damned thing about it. (I believe that's on the first page of this thread, for those that don't know what I'm talking about.)
George Bush is NOT en Epic Fail, the worst president(s) in history were Warren G. Harding and Franklin Pierce, and apparently, that's not an Opinion aymore, you can actually prove how bad they did, read about Franklin Pierce, you are gonna feel sorry for the guy.
I think he outlived all his children AND his wife, and his 3rd child, was killed because he was riding a train with his wife and last remaining child, the train crashed, his kid flew out of the car, and got crushed and mutilated under the wheels of another cart. No wonder the guy basically didn't give a **** about his presidency anymore and blew everything off and became an alcoholic.
Ralph Nader is a pretty big epic fail too. Seeing his name on the polls just makes me laugh. That's my opinion though :|

Yeah those references also point out that it's a myth.

Ultraviolet - /thread.....gorilazandgamesThe movie?.... If so, I'd agree that it sucks. It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I've seen House of the Dead.
Just an FYI to those who are bringing it up, but both Iraq war's were complete successes. We arent fighting the iraq war anymore, we are doing cleanup. Saddam and his army were defeated, this is simply the aftermath, or a part of the war on terror. The Shock and Awe strategy was executed flawlessly, the iraqi's couldn't even get their planes off the ground. It will go into the history books as one of the greatly executed military operations of american history.
The first iraq war, was the same. Although i'd say it's more deserving of the title Gulf War, since the actions actually in iraq were minor, since that was the tail end of the war and we were pretty much just bombing the iraqi convoy's after they had turned tail and ran back home. Remember the Gulf War was ACTUALLY about oil. Saddam wanted to take control of Kuwait's oil fields in an attempt to price gouge the world (this is not propaganda, look it up or god forbid you have to ask a history professor). This of course was back when the middle-eastern oil industry was a pretty big source of oil. OPEC and all. However now the world get's it's oil from other area's, the middle east is not nearly as important as it use to be.
George H.W. Bush of course is what i'd call an average president. Didnt do too much. Though the gulf war was executed fairly well (However several generals wanted George Senior to go into Iraq then, but he refused). George W. Bush is another story altogether. Never use popularity as a way to scale how good a president is. That's a fairly ignorant thing to do. George Bush has done plenty of good and with his surge he has actually turned things around in iraq and the war on terror. As should be well known by now, the Surge has been a success. You know, according to all of the soldiers and general's IN Iraq. Otherwise we're obviously losing, according to democrats.

Finally someones with some brains. Not just this topic but all of OT/this subject. You are exactly right, Good job.

Well, I can agree with you on the surge to an extent. Although their are aspects to your argument (from watching videos, reading books, editorials, and etc.) that for me have given me a different point view on the success of Iraq, and the actions taken by this presidents administration. Though, this is not an outright attack on your argument but rather just my own 2 cents (rather 1 cent) on the subject, which is these last 7 years has seen a greater loss in the trust that people have in their government (whether it be democrat or republican), greater abuse of executive power (Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety), the disastrous handling of the Iraqi government (Chasing Ghost by Paul Reickoff) which has been the big cause of most of the strive, a greater divide amongst Americans, another stain in our reputation around the world. The fact that we have to borrow money more now then ever before in order to continue our budget (http://www.globalissues.org/Geopolitics/ArmsTrade/Spending.asp#USMilitarySpending), with all this constant borrowing and spending we have seen the dollar weaken (http://money.cnn.com/2004/11/10/news/economy/weakdollar/). In these past years, there really hasn't been a thing that's really made me appreciate the current administration, but rather made me question its action. While it may be true that many within military see the president as a fit leader, several who have left the administration have all expressed their doubts in his leadership.
But meh, I think I'll give my vote to Ron Paul since I really can't find anyone else suitable for the job.
(off to sleep, sorry if my writing has a lot of grammatical errors and if it seems incoherent im about to fall asleep, but I enjoy discussing such matters with anyone, even if its someone of a different view point.)

 That's good, why wouldn't an ink pen work in space though :?
gravity is needed to pull teh ink to the bottom of teh pen and make it come out of the end. in space the ink just floats about s it cant come out the end. NASA made some sort of overly-complicated and somewhat pointells pen where tge ink was sor of pressurised so as it would always come out. a pencil was much easier :P

the ink in the pen requires gravity in order to fall to the bottom and come out of the pen.
I don't believe in ill-legalizing drugs, however, during the Regan administration, drug using among the youth went down quite a bit.The War on Terror? no.. on WMD's?... no... on Suddam? no... umm... for Democracy?
maybe the war on drugs or prohibition. now those are pure fail.

[QUOTE="camreeno360"]Everyone to this day believing 9/11 wasn't an inside job. Yep, quote me if you want.Udsen
Hey, I see you want attention. Well here it is man...
What are your backings for this theory?
EVERYTHING!!!!
I have read PM "debunking 9/11 myths" , and numerous shows, and I have got to say that even they fight conspiracy theories with even more theories. If Popular mechanic can't give us any proof, then how do they expect us to just magically join the U.S. government's side. Here are a few main questions that NO ONE can give a straight and honest answer to:
How the towers fell-I refuse to believe that only a few stories could collapse a 100+ story building in that manner.
Explosives seen while tower was falling-If it really was the "extreme pressure of the collapsing stories", then wouldn't most of the windows bust out, and not one every few stories?
The hole on the back of the pentagon- Wasn't the fuselage. Couldn't have been "debris". The landing gear couldn't cause that hole. The big question is what was it?
Just a few examples. People seem to think that our government would never do anything like this, and that they are "perfect". Our government is far from perfect, and 9/11 was the perfect time to carry through with this plan so they could invade the middle east and get oil and other resources...eeeerrrr I mean "Bin Laden and them terrorists" :).
This means that either the war or 9/11 was the biggest FAIL moment. You decide :P.

Three Hundred and Thirty-five years' war
Ironically this war between the Netherlands and Scilly Islands lasted nearly 335 years...But had NO actual casualities...both sides never got around to actually attacking the other and the dutch simply forgot that the small island everdeclared war on them!
THAT WAR =EPIC FAILURE
